Thanks guys for remembering me. I think in any relationship there is give and take and givers and takers and I think that changes and shifts over time. That's what happens in a relationship- each one picks up the other. That might well shift and you do see Kate and I am guessing will see Kate give more- especially now that she's more secure. It takes time and it's a story and it develops, and each episdoe has different themes. That's life. Just saying. Besides- honestly whatever problem one might have had with Kate- she's pretty lovable in S6. Seeing the present does help forget the past. Enjoy!
6x4, the 12th needs Castle to negotiate. 6x5 a time traveler needs Caskett help. Not sure these need KB or RC to be abck at the 12th so it could even take a bit of time to reland there (maybe), but it will I think be rooted in what she wants for the future as opposed to why she was there before which was rooted in her past, and wheteher one admits it or not, Need to Know looked like the Castle of old though shaken up a bit- and what's wrong with that- I need to know.... As I've said before, it's still a great series even if we don't like every scene or every episode, or every arc. Life doesn't always work out exactly the way we'd like, but enjoy Castle for what it is- fun and enjoyable comedy and drama which in its own unique but very TV way does mimic or parallel real life. Just saying!
We are at an interesting point where Castle can be more serious and not the playboy clown, and Kate can be more playful and fun- yin yang indeed. Yes there is angst; it is a TV drama. It is real life but for TV so there is always an allowance; let's get real (which things are on Castle), but only as real as TV needs to be (which things are on Castle). Not sure if and when she relands at the 12th, but the way things were set up in NTK (Espo hug, Gates come back and see us, being true to herself and giving evidence to the 12th) one can, I think, envision a soft landing (as opposed to a very rocky landing at S5 close).
OK- I think I should be reclassified as a guest, but no worries. My basic comment in just a few words is- real (TV) life. She took a job she thought she wanted because she thought she could make a difference. It came at a price, but it was just a few months and she's not a quitter. She grappled with things as many of us would in any new job and as she well might've when she first came to the NYPD (she didn't like Raglan and his ilk either). She knew it wouldn't be easy, but they worked something out together and Caskett is definitely in a more secure setting. I actually thought it bold and more realistic that she get fired. Considering there is a KB as super cop mythology, isn't it clever to deal with her being fired. Didn't see that coming though it was obvious and even foreshadowed.
The idea is to get her back at the 12th becuase she wants it because it's her family, it's what she's good at. But it's a fresh start- She is not there because of her mother's death or even because of Castle. DC I think will have been a way for Kate to press the restart button- to get to where she was, but as a new Kate. Just some thoughts. Now you can gripe and complain all you want, or you can enjoy the journey. Amsterdam is beautiful too, and if you don't open the window and enjoy the ride you'll miss that as well, and that would just be a shame. I might not love everything I see on that trip (hey- life isn't always perfect), but it can still be a great ride. And if one doesn't like it there are always other places to go- just saying!
Old story- If you're planning this great trip to Paris, but for whatever reason you end up in -say Amsterdam- you can gripe all you want to about Amsterdam- OR- just enjoy the beauty and greatness of Amsterdam - speaking of which- I also wasn't crazy about Pi!! I'll just share this- I think part of the whole job DC thing is really just to get her back at the 12th. But, it's a way to get the new Kate back to the 12th (And she really is a new Kate in Valkyrie- she is in love- we know she is in love- she appreciates Castle and she is ahead of her DC coworkers at every turn because of all the things Castle has shown her over the years- always the story- and she knows it- She is in Valkyrie the Kate we all wanted- whenther we admit it or not)
DianaR- Thanks for comments and for remembering some of those plot outlines. Yeah- it was a fun way to fill the hiatus and ideally get some answers to some of the questions and issues that didn't really make sense to me. And, yes- it's easy to take issue with this, or find that hole, or claim this doesn't make sense, or this character isn't acting exactly the way you like. I've made my peace with the 3eparc, and like I said- if on the road the writers take me all I see is the bad, then I miss the beauty of the road and the journey the writers are taking me on- and that would be a shame.
nottrampis- Nothing too philosophical really. Rather a recognition that as much as we want Castle to be a certain way, it is a story the writers are telling us. At the end of the day it is far easier to sit back and enjoy the story than to gripe that it is not exactly to our liking or didn't play out exactly as we might have written it. I still like the ideas we had at the beginning of this 3700+ comment journey, but alas, no Bond, no Limey. I still liked Valkyrie and the direction I sense this is all going in. And I think it's just another road leading to the same destination. One can insist on their road or just enjoy the road your driver is leading you on. The destination will be the same. Just saying!!!
Tonya- shame- truth be told you'd probably like it, but maybe give yourself a little time. Kind of imagine a Flowers From the Grave except they're already in love. Your call!
nottrampis- All are entitled to agree and disagree and feel whatever they'd like. I do not seek to sway- only occassionally to say. And despite the fact that I have figured out the problem with the world, and that is simply that it/they does/do not always see things my way, I have also accepted a long time ago that the world will continue not conforming to my will- truly, so sad. It is what it is, and rather than fight it, I will sit back and enjoy it!! I can complain and gripe to my hearts content if it would only make me happy; sadly, it does not- just empty sound and fury- signifying nothing!!!
