A lot of us found this site, formerly Gossip Girl Insider, as our first foray into the fandom, because you're one of the top sites to deliver the latest GG news. It was great, until we started hanging out in the forums. There all the shipper wars, the cliques, the bullying, the name calling got to us, and we thought it best to leave. Some of us come back every once in a while but sometimes it just felt pointless if moderation still wasn't in place. It was a basic feature of a discussion forum that was distinctly missing in this place.
I don't know why it took this long since the reputation of TVF/GGI as a hellhole for a certain type of Gossip Girl fan is now hard to erase, but I'm glad you guys are finally doing something about it. And it appears people are making up in the forums too, so I just hope things move forward for the better. I admire the fans who have stuck by the forums this long despite the unkind words that have been thrown at them for weeks, months, years.
One call sheet that got leaked mentions the name Elizabeth right about the time the mystery woman appeared in BTS photos. Calm down people, we don't know what's happening with Chuck's mom yet.
Ya know, that particular spoiler is really over-the-line. Wouldn't ya think the producers wanted to keep Bart's return a bit mysterious? Really, EW, bringing up the Xmas Carol? What else would we think?
Of course we all wish these majors spoilers wouldn't come out at all - like the gay kiss, Jack and Keith appearing this season, etc. - but Kristin worded it so badly that this is welcome news.
2. Leighton and Ed adore each other to pieces (one of them was quoted saying the other was one's "favorite person to work with") unless that somehow changed.
3. CB isn't the only couple who isn't in any sex scenes this season. In fact, Gossip Girl has been surprisingly unscandalous lately. The latest being the Santorini revelation, which didn't even leave a mark.
You guys are forgetting that Blair was less whiney and two-faced when she was around Chuck in season 1.
I think it's unfair to Blair to say those things especially in this situation because it definitely looks like B & C want the same thing for the same reasons. They're on equal footing.
Just because Chuck is "out there" in the "real world" opening a new business and Blair is still in college dealing with social hierarchies doesn't mean she deserves it any less. These are the issues that are most important to them, and that's exactly why the writers penned it like this, to see which of them would give way, and WHY.
What were you expecting? Thrity minutes of Chuck and Blair?
Kind of. KIDDING. Seriously though, no Vanessa and more Chair would've been better.
And Seth and Chuck are the outcast in their class that somehow made it in with the popular kids.
This is interesting. People keep likening Seth to Dan but this comparison to Chuck makes a lot of sense too.
Which brings me to this point: Monica/Chandler, Summer/Seth, Ross/Rachel...whichever other couple you want to compare Chair (or Dair) with, you'll find things in common if you want to, but it'll never be exactly the same. And I ship X based on its own merit, not because it's very similar to Y.
1. Let's try not to get into what a true Chair fan is and isn't.
2. I don't know about you guys the reason Chair has been awesome since day one is that they are the two people one Earth you expect to be together, but the moment they did, it made total sense. They're best friends, enemies, co-conspirators, two messed up halves of a whole. Dair can be good for its own reasons, but please don't put Chair down just because you see an "opposites attract" kind of pair as better than a "mirror images of each other" one. Or because Dan is fun to watch. And Chuck isn't? Or Carter?
3. The way they portrayed Chair in the first episode including their first issue of the season wasn't perfect, but it wasn't as messed up as VUCK or ELLE or Blair losing Yale. And I expect their storylines as a couple to be much lighter compared to the torturefest that was season 2, which might also mean taking the backseat in several episodes. Does that mean they'll get boring? Only if the writers are intent on making them so.
I agree that Chace could have been 'shopped higher, the way Vanessa was, and I prefer a smaller height banner so it won't take up so much space, but I won't nitpick any further than that. If any of you have problems with the way the cast was styled in the photo that was used, take it up with the people who shot it, The CW Network. It's not GGInsider's fault.
Finally, a Chair spoiler that isn't freaking people out in the comments and something that people are actually thankful for. See the difference a stupid storyline and an underlying issue make?
Since we're talking about the site here... can we have some improvements to the site layout itself?
- Widen the pages
- make image autoresizing a little bigger
- make the fonts more readable (maybe Arial or Verdana instead of Century Gothic or Avant Garde)
- increase the number of forum topics per page
- allow video embedding
- be a little kinder about post moderation when we post links
We hang out A LOT HERE, and contribute A LOT of content, so it'd be nice if you can make the site on the whole better. Thanks :D
"To me, because he is making a bigger deal about what Chuck says I'm thinking it is either the funniest line ever or the most romantic line ever. I'll take either."
And it's neither.....AW HALE NAW. I like your line of thinking, though, cb4e. Why is he focusing on what he says after, like it's way more important than the kiss itself?

Who is Your Favorite Teen Couple?
Blair Cornelia Waldorf and Charles Bartholomew Bass, no doubt. There is no comparison.

LMAO.
Gossip Girl Threesome Update: More Clues
Oh snap.
This certainly goes into the negative column if and when Dair happens. To quote Blair: "quite a fall, even for you."
Latest Gossip Girl Sneak Peek: "Dan de Fleurette"
1. I wouldn't say they're in an "affair".
2. Leighton and Ed adore each other to pieces (one of them was quoted saying the other was one's "favorite person to work with") unless that somehow changed.

Gossip Girl Spoilers: Will Chair Get a Shot?
I think the writers have failed to bring their point across with episodes like 1.10 / Hi, Society then. Oh well.
It's the GG and Chuck Bass version of Seth's comics.
+1
But I will give it up to Dan and Seth, they both had kept stuffed animals/toys from their childhood... Which Blair doesn't reciprocate.
Blair has a Cabbage Patch kid too, Jenny saw it.
