I'm not the only one who saw "Andrew Diggle" tattooed on deadshot's body right? while it might be just a shout out to "Green Arrow Year One" scribe Andy Diggle, it seemed too much that this episode went out of the way to slip a mention of Diggle's (bodyguard diggle) brother being killed in the line of duty.
I'm sad The Finder was cancelled. It being on FOX though, it didn't come as too big a surprise. Airing episodes out of order, moving it to fridays...... wow, it was like the network wanted it to fail. the story lines were decent, and the characters had started to build in the second half of the season. it's a shame the show wasn't given another season (and a better time slot) to find its feet....
i really just hope that it is both Robin and Barney getting married on that day...... BUT not to each other. (i.e Barney to Quinn and Robin to...someone else?).
i know that the likelihood of that being the case would be slim and minimal, but part of me wants it to be true.(although the likelihood of that too, is slim due to Becki Newton being cast in that new sitcom on FOX)
the feeling of the relationships within the gang have run its course and it wasn't a big shocker in the last scene where Robin being a bride showed. if anything, it was painfully obvious. That being said, i'm still tuning in next season... and hoping that Bays and Thomas being the amazing, misdirection creating writers that they are, will be able to make something special happen.
at the end of the day, however, it is still the journey which has been special; the story of how someone who took EIGHT years to tell his children how he met their mother, and it being totally worth it.
i don't know if i feel a little repulsed......or a little intrigued.
No offense to Lucy, but Watson should be a guy, IMHO. The classics have always been about the bromance of the duo.
Great start for the finder. i think i said this some time, somewhere before, but the premise is so simple that it would be hard to take in a right direction. That being said, i only hope the potential shown in the pilot can be fulfilled. Would this go in the direction of Bones, focusing on character development and intriguing storytelling? I don't know, but i'm in for the ride.
As for the characters, we learnt a little about each of the main cast, but more questions come out of that knowledge. why was Leo about to kill a man? how did Walter get Isabel suspended, Walter's IED incident etc etc. I look forward to be able to be emotionally connected to the cast like i am to Booth, Brennen and Co. If they do it correctly, Fox would have another golden goose on their network. (hopefully the axes at FOX are a little more forgiving this year)
last thing i want to say is. WHY NO LOVE GIVEN TO H.G. WELLS' CAMEO?
its a good start to the first episode of the new year. it brought us back to speed on the gang, it tugged on the heartstrings. if this is the sign of things to come in the new year for HIMYM, it's going to be legen-wait for it -dary.
To be honest, i don't see why so many people are so critical and negative about The Finder.
True, I'm a little upset with how fox is handling the schedule, but i see potential with the premise.
True, it's simple (its about a guy who is able to find stuff/people. DUH.),
but please, decide to watch more than an episode before deciding to drop the show like fifth period french.
remember, everyone dissed The Vampire Diaries, and even dissed the pilot/1st episode. and after that, most episodes were consistently decent, at the very least.
Warehouse 13 Alert! Dr Calder A.K.A Dr Vanessa! Same name, same CDC cover, same purple gloves. Does this mean that all SYFY originals shows are Linked/in the same universe? if thats' the case, when's the crossover? will the people in Eureka start studying alphas too? so much potential.
On the hand, Alphas is really hitting its stride. I like how the show has been building up each character slowly, each getting showcased in different episodes, but i'd like to see it all come together sooner. perhaps expectation is the thing weighing on the writer's shoulders?
I agree with C.Charles on Rachel's justification on Mike helping her cram for L.Sats. Then again, it would be interesting to see how Mike gets himself out of this mess. Why do i suddenly have the feeling that Jenny is coming back into the picture...?
Overall, I would say it is another solid episode. Fun, and having great spots like Mike trying to justify if he could pull off drag, and Harvey threatening the stock trader. The Top Gun references help too.
one question though, where's Donna?
