@Melissa @Martinelli - Yes, yes, yes! For the love of Team Gardner, yes!
This episode was definitely a bit off-kilter for me, too, but I think mainly because I didn't really connect with their case this week. Of course, I was impressed that Kalinda truly does have connections everywhere and that Diane pulled a selfless move in going to Deerfield and saying Will was responsible for the pro-bono program. Every scene with Will and Alicia was glorious and I couldn't help but yell at my TV, "give this man a hug already!" He has had the worst year ever. I think this episode served the purpose of advancing the story line just enough to get Will out of Lockhart Gardner and having Kalinda's tax file be passed to Alicia. After a three-week break, I think I was expecting a bit more... but with episode 16 on March 4, the creepy and quirky Colin Sweeney returns, so we're bound to be in for some good drama. I think what's most interesting is that we're going to see Will out of his natural habitat for awhile. This could be a great adventure!
There are so many characters who need revenge to be impressed upon them, not the least of which include Tyler and Amanda. Victoria almost seems like she's been put on the back burner due to other characters who are even more awful than she is. Who would have thought? I think Emily and Nolan will reunite before too long - their argument wasn't so epic things can be mended. That said, Emily treats Nolan like a piece of gum stuck to her shoe, so it's more her loss than his I think. At the end of the day, my favorite interactions continue to be Emily and Jack... now to oust Amanda. Maybe Tyler's wayward gun-flinging hand will inadvertently shoot her? Hmmm... happy New Year!
Favorite Scene: It had to be Eli and Will, especially after the Scotch was poured. Seeing Eli trying to make friends showed an entirely different side of him. What I love most about this story line now is that Eli is the heart of almost everything. He's the corn in his food diagram. He needs Alicia and Peter to be together for Peter's campaign; he needs Alicia and Will to be good together because Alicia is the one who can convince Will into things; he needs Peter to lay off of Lockhart Gardner because now he works at the firm it would be bad for business. Somehow Eli has become the hinge on which the show is swinging. Love it. Did Alicia make the right choice? Two words: Heart broken. I understand why the writers did it - breaking up makes for good television drama. Still, after that goodbye hug, I'm convinced we haven't seen nearly the end of these two. Team Gardner, I can't wait for more. All we need is some tequila and a good elevator... Louis Canning: Conniving! I both like and dislike this character, but it would throw an interesting dynamic into the show Alicia did move over. Also, it would uncomplicate her relationship with Will (which, if she left Lockhart Gardner would be much more accessible). Maybe I just think about Team Gardner too much? Grace's Kidnapping: In classic fashion, Grace ruins everything without even knowing it. The story line took awhile to surface and I thought it was good while it lasted. The best part was Kalinda jumping into action to find her. I don't know when it will come out that she's the one who helped Grace and brought her home, but I'm sure it will... and I can't wait. Let the Alicia/Kalinda reunion plans begin!
Diana: "You better break this story first, Serena - where is this feather-filled candle holder from? Is it Dan Humphrey's DIY handiwork?"
Should Zach and Marissa date? The 'Marissa/Zach' story line could actually be interesting. She would definitely wear the pants in that relationship, but I think it would be good for Zach to be with someone who is strong and clever, but not necessarily conniving (think: Becka). Now, what about Nesa? Best scene(s): 1) Will and Alicia's 'should we pause' conversation. I'm so glad this chat happened and equally thrilled they decided it's pointless to stop. Let's keep fueling this fire, Team Gardner! 2) Will's conversation with Kalinda. She has huge loyalty to Will and he is going to need her in the coming weeks. I love their friendship. 3) Jackie seeing Jennifer in full body paint. Her look was priceless. Dana or Kalinda? Definitely Dana. She's new on the scene and has infinitely less baggage than Kalinda. She could be a true girlfriend for Cary where Kalinda never could be...
