And okay, I'll admit there was kind of a whole therapy session thing going along for a while so yea....
But the bottom line is (for me), I didn't like the joke and thought it was an offensive joke, as well as the fact that the joke won the won the contest.
I could probably say and bash out some more, but I really don't think it's necessary anymore and won't because I think my point's been made as well as others'. So, in my point of view, I think this is where we should just end the arguing. But god, if something like this happens again THAT'S when I'll be laughing, although not necessarily in the good way.

Just because it's a joke or the person didn't make the joke to deliberately hurt people's feelings, that's not the point here. The point is either way people got hurt, and we, or at least I, would like some sort of response. Maybe something like "We didn't think it'd be offensive to people" or whatever.
And PS, if you think bulimia, eating disorders, and things like this is something that should be just laughed off then I'm afraid you couldn't be more wrong. This isn't some punk at the playground making fun of you for wearing pigtails. Oh and about the whole "its only an offence if you think it's an offence" deal, guess what? I think it's an offence.

I think what they're trying to say is that its offensive to some people because of the fact that eating disorders are a very delicate topic to certain people and that it upseted them to see that the winner chosen for the topic made a joke of it, not that they thought people were gonna stick their fingers down their throats.

I was surprised too, I didn't think that they would choose that caption. And maybe to others I'm overreacting but I really don't think that this is just another thing or that it should be joked about.
