Wow! So much Cath-bashing. Ugly and nasty. This epi was good - the procedural on the other hand was rather far-fetched. Seeing how excited the guys were to see the ProBowl was priceless, just wish Steve and Danny could have enjoyed it more!! Steve did the right thing - sure there were ways around it but it's not the Cath/Steve show it's Hawaii 5-0. Danny did the right thing too. Danny handing Kono his phone adorable! Also, don't think there was much time for Steve to call Cath and tell him he was hurt so how would she know??? Best line, Steve telling Cath if Danny could run as fast as he talked, he could have been in the NFL!! Lets leave Cath alone please. We can only hope for the best, not what we want.
Not the best epi for me. I did enjoy Kamekono's soft side and that the entire crew was present at some point or another. But I don't like Doris and her condescending attitude. Would you trust your mother if she returned after a 20 yr. disappearance w/out a reason?? Can't wait for her storyline to end for good. I laughed at Treat William's PI character being named Mick! Love him and loved Moonlight! Some cute moments but after last weeks epic storyline, this one paled in comparison.
I thought it was excellent! Alex’s range of emotions are incredible (and he doesn’t get enough recognition for his acting ability) - you could actually feel him controlling his wanting to cry over his father's friends and when he told Danny about the daughter. I've come to realize that Danny actually becomes more sarcastic when he's afraid for Steve's life, and to quote Steve, “I’m touched†because he was over the top last night. Peter Weller was excellent - he's another one who said an awful lot with very few words. He was chilling in his methodical revenge. Kickass Kono was back and I'm so happy she killed Hookman (for both Steve and Duke’s sake). It’s always enjoyable to see Kono and Fong together-loved her comment to him about not wanting his job cause she’d miss seeing him smile! I actually became emotional at the end when Steve saw his father and he said how proud he was of him. Even if it was in his imagination he really needed to hear those words from him. All-in-all a powerful episode.
I enjoyed the episode. The young actor who played Ethan was great! A classic 13 yo - obnoxious and snotty cause they don't want you to know just how scared they are. Steve works well with kids and between last week with Lucy and this week with Ethan I'm loving him more than ever. Even Cath worked well w/Ethan and her kicka$$ moves are phenomenal. I love how Steve and Caths relationship is growing and while he messed up he made up,for it admirably. Sigh.. That man wears a tux like no other. The minimal guest star exposure was just right, I was waiting fir an Oh MY from Uncle Choi when Danny refused his moonshine. You can't please everyone with every episode but so far I've found this season to be head and shoulders 3,000x better than last season. I'm glad the year ended on a happy note. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!
I enjoyed the epi. Thought it was solid. It Had action, chase scenes and a kidnapping and sweet moments too! I loved that the models weren't up front and center and didn't take over the show, though the storyline was a bit cheesy. But hey, at least it had Danny smiling!! Steve and Kono should work together more often, they have a really great chemistry. I found it a bit sad too. Imagine being that desperate as to have a pact to commit suicide. I'm loving the geeky, gawky Max just a bit more too! He was sooo sweet with his crush and yes, Jim, I think Sabrina (Rumer) should definitely return! Seeing Fong was an extra bonus! I wish they'd use him more. My favorite was seeing Gracie and Uncle Steve together. She's adorable and he just loves her. Extra, extra bonus, Steve all dressed up looking suave and seeing Kamekono in a suit!! The old team feeling is back, just like season 1! I'm loving season 3!!
I liked the episode. It was fun to watch the cat-n-mouse game between Steve and the dastardly doctor! And, even better that the team didn't believe him but when they realized his super seal senses were spot on, they rallied round. Steve didn't even have to say, told ya so!! Teamwork at its best.
Catherine and Doris are another story. I was so upset that Catherine agreed to keep Doris' secret. I know we're not supposed to like Doris and I don't. She's mean, evil, brutal and conniving. Cath signed a deal with the devil by agreeing to her terms. Can't you feel the hurt and trouble this will cause for Steve - someone else to disappoint him - and her too. All this hiding of secrets will definitely come back to haunt them. Cath knew what she was getting into when she first helped Steve with Doris. While I don't like the mom/Shelburne arc it should prove to be interesting to see how it finally ends.
I'd rate it a solid 3.8 too. This season is sooo much better than s2. If I want a good dose of reality, I'll read a newspaper. Otherwise, H50 take me away!!
I thought the episode was very good. Very season 1!! I'm not a mom fame nor a Mary fan, for me Shelly Berman saved the day. The ending was ok, made better by seeing Steve's smile as a closing shot. Please, please put this ridiculous arc to bed once and for all. It's sucking the life from the show.
Kono was fantastic as kickass, mom protector! Seeing Chin in overprotective mode with Kono made me melt.
SuperSeal BAMF Steve needs no explanation and Danny even got to drive his own car. Appearances by Duke and Charlie made the core4 complete. I love Cath, but she wasn't needed in this episode, hope to,see her soon!
Looking forward to more stories of this caliber. Keep up,the good work. This is looking more like the show I fell in love with.
I thought this was the best episode so,far this season. We learned what makes Danny Danny. Funny that Danny had/has 2 partners who love to drive his car!! The guest stars weren't overplayed, even the trash family Kardashian kid was good. Both Terence and TI made excellent drug lords. Flashback episodes can be confusing but this one flowed perfectly. Kudos to the writers for keeping the 9/11 scene sacred - I'm a 9/11 survivor and it was handled beautifully. What a beautiful testament to his former partner that Danny named his daughter for her. Chin and Kono were actually present and had input and even teased Danny! Max even contributed! Both Alex and Scott acted their hearts out - its amazing what can be said, or not, just through looks. Bravo to everyone involved in this episode, actors, writers, for creating an excellent show. Hopefully this caliber of writing will remain for evermore. This is the show that I fell in love with. Keep up the good work! Love, love, loved it!!
Not the worst epi and not the best. I will admit to having my brain turn to mush watching Steve caress Cath's arm and leg during the makeout scene. I love Cath and would like to see her put to better use other than as a babysitter for mommy dearest and for Gracie, who's turning into the most adorable 'tween ever! The plot was a little gory, with not much substance or believability. I think had we known the whys and hows of Granny/Seth it would have been better. What was truly lacking was Chin and Kono. I hope they start using them more. The ending was perfect! I just love that new modern family!!!
I'm a little late to the forum but here's my 2 cents anyway! IMO it was an ok epi - I found it a bit confusing, mutilation, kidnapping, decapitation, horse doping, a very phony medium, affairs!!! My head was spinning to realize it was old-fashioned revenge. Watching the different match ups each week is fine. Each character adds to and shows off the others strengths and weaknesses. I love the addition of Catherine, just the right amount of love for Steve and friendship for the team. Who I don't like is Doris. She's annoying and condescending. I dont think she ever loved her kids and dont understand the pretend show of affection. When she found the hidden microfilm I was so hoping for WoFat to be there, kidnap her and end this awful, drawn out life-sucking Shelburne mystery. Btw, I don't thinks she's WoFats mother, but maybe was his babysitter which could be the reason neither shot the other. So far s3 is really off the charts. The old sit on the edge of your seat greatness has returned. Alex is back in form and is a joy to watch! Hawaii 5-0 is back. I can't wait for the next episode!
