I liked it. Man hasn't Steve been traumatized enough! First coming to terms with his mom's terrible death and now having to go thru all new and different emotions as to why she abandoned him 20 years ago without so much as a postcard. I'm wondering how this is going to play into next season. Poor Steve, the guy can't catch a break. He now has to contend with a gf 24/7 and a mother (again) and abandonment issues. @Lena I agree w/you - next season we'll all find out that Joe is Steve's father and mommy dearest had to go into hiding when Daddy McG found out his best friend was literally screwing (with) his wife.
On the emotional end this was certainly a roller-coaster ride. The Fab4 having to go thru and handle their own trials while still being "on" for each other was excellent. Max was sweet and I'm glad Danny is going to fight Rachel for Gracie. Poor Chin, what a terrible position to be put in. It took me a bit to realize that Delano was behind this whole thing (I'm sure WoFat has something to do w/it too). The lady baddie was excellent as was the toothpick guy - he was out-n-out creepy.
@HFO - I saw that spoiler w/shirtless Chin - all I can say is it's about time!!
I think Max gets shot but not killed. I was leaning towards Joe dying but the more I think about it, I now feel that Fryer will die. Joe/WoFat/Shelburne are all tied together and until the Shelburne aspect is cleared up, Joe will be around.
@hunny_bee1 - Kono can hold her own. You can't help who you fall for. I think this relationship, which seems like it came outta left field, would have been better explained and cleared up had the 24th epi been included. We'll know more next season.
We're all going to be in for a great, big Coney Island Cyclone roller coaster ride. It's going to be a very long, hot summer. Sigh...
@HFO - that's great news! Kono & Adam in season 3!! YES - Kono's fine, phew!!! @martinelli - we'll have to wait and see if Adam's free. I think Kono can turn him around. Zia's right - if you received your father's body parts, you'd go dark too. I know I would.

@turretgunner - whether fact or fictional, you can't help who you fall in love with. And, like it or not, they do make a great couple!

I love Catherine, she's perfect for Mr. BAMF and I'm more than willing to give them a shot at all this togetherness and I'm thinking that neither of them is to good w/the 24/7 stuff! Amazingalex, we'll just have to see how it works. I think we'll all be in for a ride! I'm thinking Kono in the water because of the hair, loose and flowy - Malia has very curly hair. (It's a good thing I don't make a living out of being a detective cause I'd be starving!!) I hope Max doesn't get shot either.

@Martinelli - I have to commend you for admitting to liking Danny - even if it was for only this one episode! Hey, you never know, you might just like him next week too! He's really sweet and was seriously concerned about Steve (teasing you!!)
I don't remember the exact words, but did anyone else hear Danny say something like, take six or give six, to Steve? I was wondering what if meant cause Steve said to Danny, what did you say, you're starting to sound like me! Maybe referring to Team Six and Steve's SEAL time? Something else is bothering me. Why wasn't the CIA outraged that one of their own was killed? Strange. I wonder if this CIA thread will continue into next season?
I absolutely loved the last scene when Steve asked his team if they missed him and then he grabbed Kono and hugged her and brought Chin into it. And lastly hugging Danny. I was crying. The love and respect they have for each other on and off screen is just beyond everything. I think that's what makes this show the best show on TV. Love them and love the show!
Great episode! The emotions between Kono and Adam were so real. Danny was excellent and Chin, always the gentleman. I bet he wanted to strangle Kono when he saw it was Adamn she was with! And, STEVE IS BACK AND BETTER THAN EVER!!! He was better than excellent last night, and even more handsome (if that's possible! I just love when he's in BAMF mode!!

Everything was just so much better than awesome last night, Steve crashing a plane and flying a Yakuza helicopter, Kono in love w/a "bad guy", Danny going head-to-head with the CIA and Chin always coming to the rescue. Our team is back! YES!! Thanks Larry Teng for a phenom epi!!

@HFO - I understand how you feel about Steve/Kono and the IA mess, but he's the boss and like amazingalex said, he was probably more frustrated because he couldn't help her than angry. His punching Fryer was the equivalent of the team hug I was envisioning for them at the end of that epi!

Ok guys I give! Catherine was in that video! Wow, I know my eyes are as old as me but I missed her too??? WTH??? I've seen it a few more (hundred) times and finally caught the bag over Danny's head. I'm almost positive that it's Adam pointing the gun at Kono (poor thing - she really needs a break and a good guy - FONG!!) but I still can't decide if it's Adam in the shower w/her. But everyone's theories make sense so it's probably Adam (HFO me too, I was kinda hoping for Adam/Kono). Amazing Alex - you're right - people look different wet, but it's still too fast for me to tell.
At least with Steve back both Kono & Danny will be fine! I don't think I've ever wished for Monday to come so fast!! Back to work - later!!
All I can say is I've watched it so many times and I still can't see half the things you guys catch! WTH! I guess I really need new eyesglasses. I'm going to watch it again. Danny w/a bag over his head? Didn't see it. I did see the shower scene - it was too fast not sure if it was Adam, but it wasn't Steve (no tattoos) (I'm not a McKono fan). I did see the gun. Going back to watch it AGAIN to see if I can pick up more.
@Martinelli - I'll vote on your blog. (Please see the Ellen clip w/Scott - it just might alter your view of him just a little - he was very sweet on the show and there's another clip of him w/an audience member playing one of Ellen's crazy games and he was laughing so hard - it was so funny).
I love both shows so watching the xover was a given. I thought the LA side of it was sometimes harder to follow, whereas the Hawaii side flowed more smoothly. The writers for both shows did a very admirable job!
Deeks and Danny's hair wars were hilarious as was the cargument between Sam & G. I think G and Steve should retire together cause they're so much alike! What a show that'd be!! Hmm, Deeks or Danny more afraid of Hetty. Def Deeks. Danny deals with Steve all day so he can handle anything that little powerhouse could throw at him!
It was a great crossover and hope TPTB will consider doing another one next season.
I really enjoyed the episode. You could almost taste how much Danny missed Steve but Sam was great fill-in and brought out the best in Danny (what's with Navy SEALs and back-seat driving??) and Sam naming his car Winifred (Winnie for short)!! Loved it. He was quite endearing last night and I loved his playbook line. Jim - Callan isn't always so sour - he has a very wicked sense of humor too. I think if you watch NCIS-LA more often you'd see that their "family" is quite similar to H50. I think that's why I love both shows. @HFO - NCIS-LA actually lost a character - Nate - but their core has remained pretty much intact, recurring roles, but no newcomers recently (and yes, Lenkov should take note). Chin teasing Kono was priceless (can't wait to see where that leads). As always, both Chin and Kono were outstanding. @Sue Ann - sorry but I think they should do this more often!
Kevin Dobson was on another cop show years ago,but I can't remember the name. I'll have to google it. Sometimers is just sooo annoying LOL!!
Overall, despite Steve's absence, I think Danny, Chin, Kono and especially Max did an excellent job. I felt very sorry for Max, I really think he could have used a hug. This was the only episode that I remember there not being any car chases, people running or being chased, no gun shots, no noise, music, hollering orders, climbing on roofs, just quiet, intense crime solving. Different. The end scene with Steve in Japan didn't surprise me. He was going after Joe and thats where Joe was headed. Hmm, I'm just wondering if Adam might make a surprise appearance to help Steve find his father. Or help Steve with WoFat. Just a thought..

Danny is what Danny is and it wouldn't work any other way. I love him - he's sarcastic and annoying and the perfect foil for Steve, Chin and Kono. That's why they work so well together. @Zia when I said his body language screamed something else, I should have said he was very frustrated. He was upset and worried about Steve. He had to handle Max - who isn't always the easiest person to deal with - and the upset mother. Even Kamekono wanted something! The episode was a good one, just less intense than we're used to. Max was excellent and while I miss Alex a whole lot, I'm happy the others were able to share the spotlight for a change. The writers did an excellent job with the time frame they were given. Kudos all around to the cast and writers.
Danny comes across as a hard nose which he is most times but so does Steve sometimes. I think he was very good in last nights episode but feel Chin is a better leader, calmer, more rational. Danny always shines when kids are involved, that's when he's at his best, whether it's with Gracie or other child/teen guest stars. He's acerbic and sarcastic. I'm sure he was worried about Steve and while his face showed sympathy to the distraught mother, his body-language screamed something else and that's where the negativity comes from. When Steve is around they balance each other out.. The way Chin and Kono do. @DeAnn Max's character is portrayed perfectly by Masi since Max suffers from ADHD and savant personality disorders. As for your not liking Grace's portrayal of Kono, to each their own. Each character brings something different and unique to the show. Like everyone else, I'm very happy Alex will be back soon but I'm loving watching the others strut their stuff!!
I'm not a Max fan but he was very good last night and won me over a bit more. Since the quirkiness has been toned down he was very believable as hurt, bewildered and upset. You're right Jim, all 3 men could have been the Trash Man. I missed Steve terribly last night - the show didn't have the same energy/edginess that it usually does. Also, I feel Chin is a much better leader than Danny. He's kind and compassionate, like Steve, whereas Danny is brash and headstrong. Kono was her usual self. Her face was so expressive watching Max tell his story. Good for Kamekono calling in a favor - at least Kono has $200 on her tab - maybe she'll treat the guys to lunch now! I'm happy that Alex is back because I think the show would suffer w/out him as Steve. Welcome back AlphaDawg - I missed you and you were missed! Stay well. In honor of Max: Live Long and Prosper!
@lena and amazingalex - anytime we can watch Alex in whatever and for however many times it's worth it. Hey, there's always season 6 of the Shield - he was a detective in it (never saw the show but there's a first time for everything!)
@lena - ain't that the truth! I needed a HUGE bib I drooled so much! I saw it in the theater w/girlfriends and the sighs coming from the ladies were - well your imagination!! Most definitely one of the absolute best chick flicks of all time! I loved 3 Rivers when it was on - I think that's going to be my next dvr purchase. Moonlight was the show where he was the vampire. Not only was he one of THE best looking vampires, but also one of the sweetest, most considerate ones! Another good one!
I'll have to check Fan Forum out. I watch other shows but don't write about them. This is the only show I care enough about to write on.

I agree, H50 is the absolute best, and for me NCIS LA is second (I love both LL and Chris but not like I love Alex)- but you're right the family feeling is def missing. Have you ever seen Moonlight or 3 Rivers both w/AOL? I first found AOL in Moonlight, then in 3 Rivers. Check them out if you don't already own them.
