Excelllent episode. Very emotional and powerful. Alex and Scott both rocked it. Whoever doesn't think Alex is a good actor should watch this episode. His emotions were conveyed very clearly without a word and with every blink and grimace. When the team works together it is purely magical. And last night was no exception. This season has been up and down and I'm hoping that the next 2, and sadly last episodes, are just as great so we can end the season on a high note.
Not a great epi - more like an epic fail. Can't like them all. There were some cool moments, Max being a fanboy all adorable, Kamekono's product placement and What's A Fong?? but not enough to keep the interest. I don't understand H50's ranting and raving about guest stars - Aisha was over the top, loud and annoying (just like on her talk show). Maybe TPTB should invest more in sticking to the tried and true (think NCIS) and better advertising to help shore up the very poor ratings. The best scene - Steve at the end, looking at Wo Fat and probably thinking wouldda, couldda, shouldda. Agree w/jschoi - they need to get that s1 feeling back otherwise there's not going to be a season 5.
Very compelling episode. Gave me a lot of insight into Steve. Alex's portrayal last night was EPIC - emotional, kickass, friend, mentor - he knocked it out of the park. Catherine matched him step-for-step. She was with him because she's his lover, his friend and knows him the best and she's military and it wasn't supposed to turn into a war. A lot was said with little words and big action. The fact that the team showed up at the end was PRICELESS. Ohana at its best. I would want Steve behind me in everything I do - his love and loyalty is remarkable; he's a man of honor and courage and he carries out the strength of his convictions. HOO RAH.
Phenomenal episode. Shemar was excellent. The story was well written and very well acted. As for Buford: #1 finding "religion" was a sham, he used it as a coverup for his own protection which was very evident at the end; and #2 his dying doesn't change anything for Derek. You can move on from the past but the ghosts never really go away. Powerful and compelling storyline. It moved me to tears.
Really enjoyed this ep. I love when the entire cast is on and this one was a home-run! The theme of friendship resonated throughout and who better than our crew to showcase exactly how it's done!! And they do it beautifully. The chemistry that exists between them is evident. It was a nice shift from the usual procedural, shoot-em-up. Kono & Chin being BAMF and Danny's "where's the love" was excellent but the chopper scene and the guys bopping to the Magnum theme was PRICELESS! Jeff Cadiente did an excellent job with this episode and I hope he'll do more.
Not a bad ep. Roller derby was secondary to the trust issues w/Steve, mom and Cath. I like Catherine and was happy to see more of her. There was actually some depth to Steve and Catherine's relationship. But Doris has to go, dead or alive. She rose a tiny iota in my book by convincing Steve it wasn't Catherine's fault but hers for the deception and how Cath loves him. I think Steve and Cath will stay together but it won't be easy. With mom getting a starring role in another show, tptb will speed up her demise, Hallelujah. Of course, Wo fat is responsible for the burglary meaning he'll be back next season to give Steve more headaches. It's a TV show. If you want reality, watch the Amazing Race.
Pt. 2 - sorry - forgot to add that I would love to see more of Catherine and Kono! I think the ladies make an excellent kick-a$$ team together!! Give the guys a run for their money!
Wow! So much Cath-bashing. Ugly and nasty. This epi was good - the procedural on the other hand was rather far-fetched. Seeing how excited the guys were to see the ProBowl was priceless, just wish Steve and Danny could have enjoyed it more!! Steve did the right thing - sure there were ways around it but it's not the Cath/Steve show it's Hawaii 5-0. Danny did the right thing too. Danny handing Kono his phone adorable! Also, don't think there was much time for Steve to call Cath and tell him he was hurt so how would she know??? Best line, Steve telling Cath if Danny could run as fast as he talked, he could have been in the NFL!! Lets leave Cath alone please. We can only hope for the best, not what we want.
Not the best epi for me. I did enjoy Kamekono's soft side and that the entire crew was present at some point or another. But I don't like Doris and her condescending attitude. Would you trust your mother if she returned after a 20 yr. disappearance w/out a reason?? Can't wait for her storyline to end for good. I laughed at Treat William's PI character being named Mick! Love him and loved Moonlight! Some cute moments but after last weeks epic storyline, this one paled in comparison.
I thought it was excellent! Alex’s range of emotions are incredible (and he doesn’t get enough recognition for his acting ability) - you could actually feel him controlling his wanting to cry over his father's friends and when he told Danny about the daughter. I've come to realize that Danny actually becomes more sarcastic when he's afraid for Steve's life, and to quote Steve, “I’m touched because he was over the top last night. Peter Weller was excellent - he's another one who said an awful lot with very few words. He was chilling in his methodical revenge. Kickass Kono was back and I'm so happy she killed Hookman (for both Steve and Duke’s sake). It’s always enjoyable to see Kono and Fong together-loved her comment to him about not wanting his job cause she’d miss seeing him smile! I actually became emotional at the end when Steve saw his father and he said how proud he was of him. Even if it was in his imagination he really needed to hear those words from him. All-in-all a powerful episode.
