The standoff was amazing! Also amazing was when she just shot the mole. For a second, I foolishly believed that Huck could calm them all down, but she did it so quick and it was just over. And then they all knew what to do to clean up! Absolutely incredible. I hope Fitz is in the next episode! These last two without him were rough.
Not my favorite episode, but such a good one! As much as I love to hate Mellie, I loved her speech to the pastor's wife. And then I loved Fitz's ultimate dismissal of her. It made me laugh and yet, I was still sad for her. I find myself caring more about Quinn's story than her actual character. Hopefully that will change over time, but for right now, while we're all still in the dark about what transpired, I just want to know the story and I'm hoping that as it unfolds, it'll make her character a little more interesting.
I think it's great that Shonda is trying to tell a story about people who have lost a limb. I haven't necessarily been waiting for that storyline on Grey's for the past nine years, but I appreciate her comments after seeing so many people criticize Arionza for having the attitude she does after losing her leg. It's a huge transition to make, and it's not easy on the newly disabled or the people around them who also have to adjust their lives. Jessica Capshaw has done an incredible job portraying the emotions. Grey's is lucky to have her still around!
Hate to be a Debbie Downer, but this all sounds awful. I'm not really reassured by anything the producers are saying, seeing as they don't seem to know what'll happen to these characters either.
It's going to take a while for me to get the image of Lane's corpse hanging against the door out of my head. Even though the entire storyline with the embezzlement felt out of character, Jared Harris really delivered in this episode. I think I realized for the first time how unlike everyone else he is at that firm. Don finding out about the check represented a huge failure for him, and unlike Don, who is able to take a failure and bounce back from it, Lane figured he could never get past this disgrace. Desperate times, I guess.
More Betty Draper! To be fair, I think Betty was just as surprised that Sally was acting like a child who needed her mother instead of trying to act like an adult. Sally Draper can be pretty funny to watch on screen, but if I ever talked to my parents that way I would've been slapped in the mouth and forced to go on that ski trip. I also could've done without the shot of Sally Draper's stained underwear...just a little too much for me.
I am pretty discouraged by the fact that there was no mention of Peggy, nor does it seem like she will make an appearance next week (based on the previews that never give anything away). I'm not quite sure what it will take for me to like next week's finale, seeing as we've had two jaw dropping episodes, but it would be good to see something positive happen at the SCD(P?).
The overall feel of the episode was great, and I really enjoyed it. However, the actual graduation scene really annoyed me. After being so excited for Puck passing his test, I was left wishing that Glee would just do this one thing normally - a legitimate high school commencement, without characters singing, without characters popping out from behind curtains in the auditorium. The end was just touching enough to redeem this episode for me, but would it be too much to ask for Glee to sacrifice a song in order for the show to reflect reality?
This was a pretty great episode, and the review covers my sentiments exactly. It actually had me laughing, not rolling my eyes at the ridiculousness of storylines. Glee, please finish strong next week!
So upset that GCB is canceled! It really was just hitting its stride, and it would've been so nice to see at least one other full season. Damn you, ABC!
As much as I've loved the show over the years, it's definitely time for it to be off the air. It's gotten pretty predictable, and not in a good way. This could've been the season that really made an audience miss Wisteria Lane, but instead, it just gave us terrible, inconsistent writing the way it has for the past several seasons. I hope they do the series finale justice.
