What a great episode! Glee made me excited to be a fan tonight. Blaine deserves the role of Tony. He's just better suited. Kurt should get over it...although I doubt that he will, and I'm pretty sure this will be the first hoop they have to jump through as a couple. And Quinn has some balls, thinking that she can take care of a baby. Utterly ridiculous. Shout out to Mr. Shue for having a spine, though! That's probably the best scene he's had in the entire series.
I'll keep watching, but let's be real: I'm still upset that Blaine just transferred schools like that! Sure, it's a TV show that often blurs the lines of reality, but if I were Blaine's parents, I'd ask him for a check to cover the amount of money they spent on Dalton Academy, only to have their son transfer schools for a boy and a singing competition. Just sayin.
Such an incredible set of episodes to kick off Season 8! A couple of thoughts: -Derek is within his own right to still be pissed at Meredith. I don't know about y'all, but I think any real person would be devastated to learn that their partner compromised their job. Did Meredith do what she did for honorable reasons? Of course. Is Meredith a good person? Of course. But like Derek said, sometimes Meredith's level of insanity defies imagination....and in the real world, that has unfortunate consequences. Kudos to the writers for not completely settling this issue in the season premiere, but I do hope Der & Mer get back on track soon. -Sandra Oh deserves an Emmy! She brought a fantastic combination of wit and emotion to these episodes and is my favorite character to watch every week. -Not surprised about Avery. Remember Season 6 finale, when he took the monitors off Derek to make Gary Clark think he had died? It seems as though he was introduced as a very talented, skilled surgeon, comparable to Cristina, and then in Season 7 he was written as just a pretty face. Nice to see him step up. -Did anyone else catch Derek's comment about "calling every ER in town to make sure she wasn't over by a bus"? Those throwback remarks to previous seasons make me happy.
I can't believe that the opening song and Mad Men bit aren't in your top 5! Those lines were PERFECT.
100.....pretty please choose me!!!
Best news ever! I love Alan Cumming and can't wait to see more Eli Gold!
The irony of all of this is that the post's title is misleading! It leads you to believe that it will be substantial Mer/Der scoop, but really only two lines (at the end) of the whole thing are about the main couple. I respect the writers for creating really great characters who people can identify with, but I hate when the writers take the drama to a soap opera level. Izzie in season 5, Cristina in 1st half of season 7, and now Calzona/Mark in the 2nd half of season 7 - all storylines that started out sane and just became obnoxious. Izzie left with all of her drama, and Cristina pulled herself together...if Callie doesn't clean up her act, I'll be hoping she leaves, too (Arizona and Mark can stay!).
