I think Joan is so confused right now in her post divorce state. She knew her ex (Sam? I'm blanking) wasn't the guy for her, she thought Roger would always be there, then she believed that Roger sold her out for Jaguar. Now she's questioning everything and in some way she's feeling guilty for Lane's suicide.
Mad Men isn't one of those shows that I'm obsessed with watching every week, but when I finally get to it I always feel satisfied because it makes you think. There's so many different angles to look at things. The writing is incredible, for example normally i want to punch Pete in the face, but tonight I actually felt bad for him when he went to visit Alexis Bledel in the hospital.
Whoever said that Don is afraid to give Megan what he wants bc she might leave him could be onto something. Personally I believe that Don is happier with Megan than he ever was with Betty, but Don always has a part of him that is insecure. Take what Adam's ghost said to him when he was under anesthesia, "you're rotten and not just your tooth."
Here's hoping for a short hiatus and the return of Peggy next season! I really enjoyed that scene with her and Don at the movies.
@R- I'm 26 actually. Also there's this thing called hyperbole to emphasize your point in your writing. Did I physically have chills? No. But did I find it extremely disturbing that someone dug up a dead girl's grave and stole her body? Uh YES. I watch shows far more gory than PLL, but I think Marlene King does an excellent job in setting a really creepy, dark tone for viewers. As far as Emily, if your significant other was murdered after you were stalked for a year and you basically woke up in front of your best friend's empty grave wouldn't you feel a bit off?
for the record, I am FULLY a part of this generation and that's the only reason I said it. I totally wouldn't insult something that I had no clue about. I am well versed in how we were raised. I totally get how Marnie and Hannah are because I've been there!!! Sorry for anyone who misunderstood when I called their generation self absorbed, I said it because yes WE are.
And fyi I have embarrassed myself 1000000 times in real life and that's the only reason I'd ever offer anyone advice. Learn from your mistakes. By the way, these characters are fictitious.
@Mikey- our reviews are editorial aka opinions. I am free to write whatever I want so if you don't like it, don't read it. Not sure what you're specifically referring to anyway as I complimented Jessa and there was nothing bad to say about Shoshanna. I stand by the fact that I don't feel bad for Marnie or Hannah in their respective situations. To tell someone "I just wanted you to find happiness outside of our relationship" is so self important it's sad.
whoever asked if the girls on table are rednecks- I'm from NY and live in Manhattan, precisely on the block where they shoot the Van der Woodsen apartment, but if we were from backcountry Bluebell Alabama who cares??? Also whoever said Serena stooped to the bar sex blackmail because it was probably an order from GG, this is an AMAZING theory and I'm totally on board. Also my answer to rating this finale got effed up so here it is: it mostly blew and was fairly depressing. But then again they were cleaning up after a season of Safran butchering the show to death so they did what they could in one hour!
Forwood Forever. Like 4EVA Mark Wahlberg Fear style, sorry if that's creepy great movie just had to throw it out there. Loved this episode. Not sure why Elena passed out but perhaps it was just for the human reason that after you lose a shitton of blood you're supposed to rest, recover, hydrate and NOT take tequila shots. Just a guess?
I didn't mention Michael and Oksana because I didn't have all that much to say about it. They were definitely the B story in this episode. There's no clue as to where they are headed. The train could've easily told Miller and Giancarlo that they made a stop at one point, but they failed to mention it which was just lazy.
Also I think it's suspect as opposed agent because they aren't sure that Zero is part of the CIA or any agency, although it's definitely looking likely.
i was laughing so hard at Armisen when he was behind Jimmy during the telethon. Is it true that Kim K took the place of the Paul McCartney cameo on the west coast?
All the jumping around had me feeling like I was tripping. I can't wait to see a Roger on LSD gif. That was great. I hope he and Joan get together now. I happen to be a big fan a Megan. If Don had that fight with Betty I don't think it would have turned out the same. She challenges but also calms him in a way no one else has. Interesting episode.
Re: Chace's lip- I think he wiped out at a club on new years and cut it open. Must've been some wonky stitch job. That said...man bangs is still gorgeous regardless.
I'm soooo happy Joan tossed Greg out and even more happy that she referenced his shitty actions in the past. I can't believe that the Grandma gave Sally a seconal, OMG started having Valley of the Dolls flashbacks!
