I do believe that Chuck was 100% abusive. No excuses. But Blair knows how he gets. She knew he was drunk, half crazy with jealousy, and probably on something. She shouldn't have gone there. While Chuck was absolutely to blame, the girl needs to use her head. If you know someone is violent, don't go there alone. If she HAD to tell him in person, bring someone. Never, ever put yourself in that position. I don't support Chair. Chuck needs help. And Blair needs help because her eyes at the end of that last episode tells me that she's struggling. She was in abusive relationship and coming out of that is tough. Hence why I think Serena is a massive bitch for not only neglecting to support her best friend during such a hard time but also to try and destroy her new, healthier relationship. And shame on Nate for not helping Blair that night. He couldn't have run after her to make sure she was ok? I understand leaving Chuck but he once dated Blair, how could he just stand there!!!?? Shame on those two for not recognizing how much their friends need them. Especially since Blair has ALWAYS been there for Serena and Serena slept with her boyfriend and then abandoned her just as her father left the family.
This is to let people know that I don't blame Blair for what happened but that she needed to be more careful. Chuck is dangerous and needs help. Blair needs to protect herself.
Oh and Blair needs a new maid of honor. Seriously, she throws Blair under the bus by telling Princess Sophie then she allows Chuck to wander around the Royal party when she knew how important it was to her friend? What. The. Hell! Everything Blair has ever done doesn't compare.
I think Chuck managed to control himself when it was important. He may have punched out the window but he did it so avoid hurting Blair instead. AND WHAT THE HELL WAS BLAIR THINKING GOING THERE IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!!??? I think domestic abuse is disgusting and there is no excuse for it but Blair should never have gone to Chuck while he was still so drunk. She should have called him. I understand that she wanted to tell him before he read it somewhere but she knows him better than anyone, she shouldn't have told him in person just then.
To me, there's no redeeming Chair as it stands. The passion is still very much there but how can they justified Blair going back to him now? She's not his nanny. She can't be responsible for taking care of him every second of day.
As for Louis, he has less personality than white bread but it's good to see Blair smile.
As much as I can't blame Mark Sailing for wanting to leave, Puck hasn't had any real storylines since the baby, why would they kill him off? With Puck it's believable if he drops out or ends up in juvie again. Maybe they just wanted a death storyline.
Becky? Dying? What :0? Why would they kill her off? I don't understand. Sue's sister would make more sense, she's the only person that keeps Sue human. With her gone that would create some seriously dark moments for Coach Sylvester. And considering that I'm a fan of Jane Lynch's acting, I think it's something she could pull off.
It's not Blaine for crying out loud! He's coming to New Directions next year and Darren himself has said that Kurt and Blaine aren't breaking up any time soon.
YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'M SO HAPPY!!! Favorite show of all time. I'm glad that a cooperation hasn't forced Mad Men to cut cast members or compromise it's artistic integrity. I'm a happy fan, I'm even willing to wait till 2012.
A beloved character is dying...Omg is it Figgins!!!??? :O
It must be someone we know and love but wouldn't see coming...Not any of the kids...that would take the episode to such a dark place. I'm guessing it's a side character.
Finn and Quinn are the break up, bet you anything. Since Blaine is coming to McKinley next season it's doubtful that Klaine will break up. And Cory Monteith, posted that picture of Finn alone at the prom. I'm thinking he gets dumped. I don't even understand why those two got together again anyways but I'm disliking Finn the longer he's with Quinn. And don't even get me started on how I feel about Quinn...
Lol, it's all good. Everyone get's carried away. I do think it's a little hypocritical that Blair uses poor Dan to scheme while lecturing Chuck about the same thing just last episode. Those belong together. Dan is her intellectual equal but he clearly can't keep up.
1. What was your favorite Gossip Girl quote from last night?
Not a quote but the entire monologue of Blair's in front of the mirror. Her whole scheme is ridiculous and over complicated but it makes perfect sense to her.
I also loved Eric when he was like "I don't know who that is"...About Louis. I loved that one person at least wasn't sucked into Blair's strange love life.
2. Lily under house arrest: A fair punishment?
Meh ending to a meh plotline. I was just hoping to see less of Lily but I did love her Pink Party revenge. Who the hell is Anne Archibald to judge Lily anyways? Her family is way more sleazy than Lily's, even with Serena in it. But totally realistic she would attack like the vicious lap dog she is. Never liked her. She got all judgy with Blair earlier this season and I was like "Bitch, no".
3. Was that actually Raina's mother?
Oh God, I could care less. Raina is not a successful character, she needs to go the way of Eva.
4. Will Dan and Charlie hook up?
When they do, let it be said that I called it!! Dan=Incest. But I do like Charlie, I thought she was cute in this ep. Although she did come off a little stalker-ish of Dan but she is a Rhodes after all...She won't wait for the man to come to her! 5.Harder to believe: Charlie's instant love for spying, the idea that the Prince would be taken back to Paris unless his handler saw Dair kissing, or ANY of Serena's reasoning? I'm going have to say Lucien, that was stupid. I mean come on! The girl he's talking about is going upstairs with some other dude!!! That's like party code for hookup. A French man would KNOW that. He wouldn't go after them for crying out loud! Charlie taking to spying with over enthusiastic zeal is absolutely realistic, she has 18 years of manipulative behavior. to make up for. She's a Rhodes! And Serena's reasoning makes sense...To Serena.
6: Rate last night on the Vanessa Uselessness Scale (1-10)?
Because of Dan's amazing speech to her, I'm going to have to say a 0. It was good to see Dan get his balls back. Now, she'll desperately try to get him back and it will be fun to watch.
7: Blair gets engaged at season's end. Will it be to Chuck, Dan or Prince Louis?
Hell, I waiting to see if there's any I-dos before I'm even convinced an actual marriage will happen. But I think that Blair's not even 20, she's doesn't need to be engaged. But if I were to guess, I'm thinking it's Chuck. Dan won't ask Blair to marry him this early (also Charlie is being set up as his rebound girl, I can just FEEL it), Louis will get down on one knee but Blair won't leave New York, so that leaves our resident Prince of Darkness. Two men have rings, Louis and Chuck. So it has to be one of them. Either she'll say yes to Louis now and back out later or Chair has wedding bells in their future. And Jack will be back to crash the wedding...
But a side note for those that say that Chuck doesn't care that Blair rejected him, obviously he does. Otherwise he wouldn't need Scotch to "take the edge of the coke". But thinking your dad may have killed someone would be tough to take, especially since the guy is dead and you can't just ask him straight out. While I don't approve of his lack of responsibility, I can see why the guy would be stressed. And wtf is his ex doing with his best friend, IN HIS HOTEL???? Raina should at least have the class to take Nate to her place. As for Nate, he can be forgiven because he really doesn't know better.
I think it's the ultimate choice for a woman to face. She has three choices, well four actually. She could choose to be a Princess and marry into royalty, while somewhat liking her husband, she's not in love. She can pick Chuck, the love of her life but also unstable. Then there's Dan, the safe and secure guy. He'll be sure to always be there but he's not rich or glamorous. OR she can just be alone like she's been for so long. It's an interesting idea and I think Leighton does a good job of playing it.
On whether Dan and Blair are over: Come on! If you were going to have Dan and Blair get together, don't have Dan oggle Serena's cousin the same ep that he loses her to Chuck. Because if a girl kisses you and thinks about someone else...That's a bad sign. I get such a brother/sister vibe off these two. I don't see the sexual chemistry and I don't see the tension or heart melting cuteness. I see two really good actors making the best of a crappy script.
On Blair's love triangle/quadrangle: Been there done that already with Nate and Chuck...Louis looks like a tool btw. But I think Blair is going to pick him to be honest. Sigh. Cue to the lame royalty story lines come season 5...If there is a season 5...
On whether Gossip Girl producers have the endgame planned out: I thought they had secrets that they were planning since season 1...And if the show is in no danger of ending then what's with all the tap dancing there Josh?
On whether cast members want to move on: Blake, Penn, Taylor, and Leighton have all had different stories come out saying that they want to move on. Blake Lively reportedly wanted Serena killed off. And Josh hasn't said whether or not they want to leave. He avoided answering directly. I think this means the actors are sick of GG.
On Jenny's future: How can they say that Jenny is still very much a apart of the show when she's barely been around? Also, if they don't have Taylor Momsen contracted...Good luck getting her back.
On whether Ben's coming back: Here Josh says that they had "planned well ahead of time" on Ben's appearance. That's in direct conflict with his previous statements. And Oh GOD, please don't have Ben come back...That whole storyline was ridiculous...I'm sick to death of Serena's random love interests and most of all, of Lily. Enough with her already.
On Raina's upcoming role: So basically expect Raina to act just like her father? So she's going to go after Chuck this time? Meh, the guy had his own mother turn on him. Highly doubt he'll even notice a former fuck buddy out for revenge.
Charlie on Gossip Girl
On newcomer Charlie: Basically, she's the new/old Jenny. Predictable. The wide eyed innocent getting corrupted by money.
On whether we're supposed to hate V: How does Vanessa serve an important purpose might I ask? Other than to tattle on various characters because she happened to randomly be skulking about? Seriously, does she have a molar tracker on these people? She's always around!Poor Dan, his voice of reason is a jealous ex girlfriend!
Sound off, who likes Vanessa?
..............
Dead silence.
Seriously, Josh. Hire some good writers and take a step back before it's too late...If it isn't already.
I smell the scent of desperation...I'm thinking our beloved GG is in trouble. Why hasn't it be re-newed yet? How I Met Your Mother, the Good Wife, and others have been confirmed but not Gossip Girl? Now Josh Safran is being wishy washy on the developments? And I'm a little confused...How can both Chair and Dair have been 4 seasons in the making if he doesn't plan things out...Also didn't Safran and Savage originally say that Chuck and Blair getting together first season was a development that "just happened"? I'm thinking this interview was to entice us into watching the finale. When in reality, I'm down with any couple as long as they're well written. And we need new characters in the mix that we can understand...Eva,Raina,and now Charlie. Georgina should have stuck around...A mobster baby? Really?
