Amazing and very intuitive review by Carissa,
Wow, what an amazing episode (deja vu, I seem to be saying that after every single episode lately). Definitely worth the wait. I'm sorry to see Evan go, and he certainly is gone, at least as we know him. He was starting to really tick me off, but he was great in the part and I will miss him for sure.
I can honestly say I have never been as drawn to a show as this one, and by drawn to, I mean obsessed with.... It's almost ridiculous, what a guilty pleasure it has become.
I loved the interaction between JT and Tess, and as well, between her and Vincent. I feel like so much is starting to fall into place, and at the same time, so many more avenues opening up. I'm also trying to ignore the odd obviously questionable things, like the fact that Muirfield knows exactly who Catherine is, where she works, and I assume where she lives. Not sure how she can continue to see Vincent on the sly, or not lead them to him? The scene at the end was so moving, these two together? I'm even sick of hearing myself say it, but that chemistry... As BeastieA said, it was great to see Vincent being the shoulder for Catherine, though she didn't give in to that hopelessness for long, she's now even more determined to close down Muirfield. Now comes the endless wait for the next episode. And yes, great to see Lucas Bryant, didn't see that one coming!
BATB needs to be renewed!!! Of all of CW's shows, it is without a doubt the best!
If it is cancelled, I'm tuning out of this station, period.
I cant explain it, and its actually a little weird, but I am absolutely addicted to the show.
Concept, storyline, chemistry between Vincent and Cat, chemistry between Vincent and Cat, and did I mention the chemistry between Vincent and Cat?
It won the PCA, that should count for something?
Other than Supernatural (possibly) I think it has the most devoted and avid fan base...
Just went on to Amazon and sent my book in. Wow, it couldn't have been any simpler, five minutes of my time, and $12 from Canada straight (hopefully) to Mark Pedowitz at CW. I pay that much to go and see a movie, so it's a small price to pay for a second season of BATB! I was being kinda lazy about it but finally decided that for someone who loves the show as much as I do, and for someone who will be crushed if it is not renewed, I had to get off my lazy butt and actually do something about it.
It really was a no brainer, so I hope everyone else will take that little bit of time and send something off. Seriously, why wouldn't you? Just sit down at your computer, spend about 5 minutes of your time and boom! Its done...
I watched the old Beauty and the Beast with Perlman and Hamilton, and I loved it. Great series for sure. However, the current BATB is a totally different animal (excuse the pun) for sure. It stands alone. I don't equate it with the old one at all, and as such, I don't look for similarities or anything else that would link the two. That was then, and this is now, and the now is my favourite show on the air. Yes, they may have put Vincent and Cat together a little early in the game, but in view of the fact that there may not be a second season (I don't even want to think about that), I would have been pretty upset if they had not gotten together at all! I also have to say that I think Jay Ryan is an amazing actor. The emotion he can portray with just a look? He "gets" the whole Vincent and Catherine relationship, totally, and I for one cannot get enough of this series...
Tess checked out that door because the witness said that Vincent had appeared out of nowhere and disappeared as fast. Tess looked around and realized that door was the only possible entrance and exit for a quick appearance and get away.
Thats the only credit I can give her on this ep, though I guess Vincent was pretty threatening looking towards the end. Its not like he was your average perp looking to give himself up...
Ya, Gabe is pretty scary alright, extremely hard to guess his story at this point. I cant imagine who Cat will be able to trust to help Vincent at this point, other than Evan, who was revealed earlier as a closet world class surgeon.
Theres no way any one else will do as Vincent is not stable and would have no control. I'm assuming that Red is too far away...
interesting, and once again, I'm stuck waiting a whole week to find out!!! Brutal!
I was also a little surprised that Cat didn't register the fact that in light of what Vincent had told her about being with a woman a couple of years before, that he had obviously never been with Alex while they had their little reunion thing.
I don't know, I just thought it was important that she know there was no one but her...
I agree, this show does get better and better, the writers are as amazing as the cast (I've decided to forgive them for the whole Alex fiasco, though it did give us a lot more insight into both Vincent and Cat so I guess they know what they're doing)
It seems as though everything is falling into place for a very wild ride ahead. Very interested to see what's up with the new DA, hate that I have to wait a whole week to get a little more insight into what is up with him.
As for Cat and Vincent, well, what can you say other than WOW. Seriously, WHAAATTT! I kinda hate to admit it, but I've replayed several of those scenes, several times! Insane chemistry, great acting, trust, how she calmly pulls him back just as he starts to change at the end...
I have been taping the show, but now I'm a little concerned as to whether or not that effects viewer ratings, does anyone know?
On the other hand, these days I can barely wait for the show to come on let alone wait to watch it...
I don't even want to think about the possibility that it may not get renewed, it is far and away my favourite show these days.
In response to Gigi's post, what??? People have panned Jay Ryan's portrayal of Vincent?
I think he has the character nailed. It's that vulnerability and everything else about him that makes him so irresistible. Gigi's description of Vincent is bang on, to a T. It's certainly interesting how people can watch the same thing, and see it so differently..Not sure whether its a lack of advertising or what, but a lot of my friends had not even heard of the show, I'm slowing turning them on to it. I bought a season pass so that they can start at the very beginning!
I have to disagree with JB, having something in common is not necessarily what makes a relationship. Cat and Vincent have an amazing chemistry, and chemistry is what its all about. What I can agree with is that the writers need to be a little more mindful of the details and how they connect from one episode to the next. That said, it's still my fave show and waiting till March 14th will be nothing short of brutal! I would love to have seen that first kiss when they were dancing at the wedding (still my favourite moment), but as it was, I'll be rewinding it and rewatching it for sure. Seriously, if there is an actor on TV with a voice as incredibly sexy as Vincent's, I have yet to hear it. I love them as a couple, and it's that chemistry between them that keeps me coming back for more!
