@Gavin: I have no doubt Stannis may be well developed in the books, but I have not read the books. I review this show purely from a TV perspective, episode by episode, just like any other series.
And so far, as you seem to agree with your "to a certain extent" comment, you seem to mostly agree that we've seen VERY little of the guy aside from him doing whatever Melisandre says.
@Steve: I have not read any of the books, nor have I watched any future episodes. My comment on Dany was/is pure speculation because... come on, no way is she giving up a dragon!
I don't think I ever said the show is terrible. I questioned, and still question, its reliance on low brow sex appeal and humor to market itself.
If the show were so confident in its actual material, why not include scenes or jokes?
And the idea that ratings equal quality television would be something I most certainly disagree with.
@Kay and @really now: We aim to bring you reviews of every new episode of every show on television, but it was my fault we failed in this case and missed the Thanksgiving episode.
It will not happen again.
@CarrieAnn: I very much disagree that it's logical to fall in love with someone raised as your brother from your earliest memory. Dexter was/is as taken aback as anyone by Deb's feelings; he was just trying to find any explanation he could in order to calm her down.
@R: This is a review, as other readers have pointed out. We ask writers to assume readers have seen the episode and are coming here for opinion/reaction.
@BlairShipper: A very reasonable point. I may be a bit off in calling it "forced," but it's still valid that he helped Caroline transition so well, so he should be the top choice for Elena as well.
