This is awesome! Haven't seen the Transformer movies, to be honest - heard the 2nd was terrible but the first was good. Anyway, it would be nice to see him in something other than "Maid of Honor" on the big screen. (Did anyone actually see that?) Dempsey rocks.
Didn't like Demi until I saw her on Sonny With A Chance - which is hilarious. I like her now, and I think she'll do a good job in this role. Can't wait for Grey's to return!!
Whoa. Thought Naomi was against abortion since she struggles with helping couples get pregnant and deal with infertility for a living. So she must be super conflicted. Or maybe I'm full of crap. Hope Shonda does this well - should be interesting.
Yep, I agree that it was easy to predict that Maya is pregnant. And I don't think Sam will be the one locked up - I'm more worried about Naomi's reaction.
Love Mark and Addison - their dialogue, I mean. Hilarious. Feel bad for Addie - she needs someone, and soon. Don't know if it will be Sam or not yet.
Beginning scene at the cemetery was heart-breaking. Love that Dell finally apologized to Betsy.
Coop/Charlotte fight - eh. I'm sick of them fighting. Starting to like Charlotte more than Cooper, which is odd.
GA side - Teddy is one of my favorite characters now on Grey's. Overall, great crossover. Well done. Oh, and Pete was hilarious last night as well - especially when talking to Mark. :)
Yeah, Mark is NOT moving. But this should be interesting - considering Shonda's love of writing about cheaters, not surprising. Looking forward to seeing Addie with a guy who isn't a random, undeveloped character!
Can't wait - just want to see Addie with a guy. And I like Mark, although it will never actually work out in the long run. But if you follow Shonda on Twitter, she loves writing about cheaters. The more drama the better, according to her. So I AM disappointed about the cheating, but it's to be expected by now with Shonda.
LOVED this 2-hour event - I definitely will be re-watching these soon.
My thoughts: Love Kate Walsh (who doesn't?)- Addie's storyline was heartbreaking and phenomenal - I agree with what has been said that the twist was a good one. I enjoy finding out more about Addie's life, and in my opinion Addie wasn't being too mopey. I actually found myself wishing that she WOULD have a mental breakdown, where she would just completely lose it. But in a way, she was on the brink for the entire 2nd hour, which ended up being a good thing, as it added to the tension and the confusion.
@Lauren, I'm not sure about Sam and Addie - I think I just like them as friends. Really. But I know what you mean.
I liked the Dell storyline - I was upset with AND for him, for what he said to Heather and what happened because of her. Chris Lowell was great - so was Tim Daly, actually. And everyone else.
@Kara - also loved the stuff involving Maya. Always loved her, and it's great to see Shonda bringing her back into the show again. Really nice to see the characters dealing with a child who is growing up, not just a baby.
Oh yeah, and 2 words: AUDRA. McDONALD. Wow. She is amazing - really wish there were more scenes with Naomi and Addie last night. Hoping for some of that in January!! Because she is SO talented.
And, @J - I also loved Sam protecting Addie. Because she needed that. Again, I love their friendship!
I hate Violet for sleeping with the Captain, then acting like it didn't matter when Addie called her out on it. Totally wrong. Don't really care if "she feels better" because she slept with him.
Overall, amazing. And the writing in the scene toward the end when Addie is yelling at the Captain - intense and fantastic. Especially when she says she hated him, but now she hates both of them. And did anyone else notice the great music? Loved it!
Anyway, I've written enough. Really looking forward to the cross-over in January! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, everyone!
Agreed - probably something to do with drugs. Can't wait for the double episode- PP rocks! And I really want to see how Addie reacts to the father/Violet thing. Ooooh.
Wow, I return to find an actual conversation going here. Surprising.
Liked the episode - surprised that Charlotte felt guilty enough to go get the boy's labs for Coop. Interesting. And I did side with Addie, although I did feel for Cooper.
Naomi is amazing - LOVE Audra, and can't wait for more Naomi/Addie scenes.
Kate was amazing, as usual. Loved the conversations with her dad - super nice to get more of her background, and interesting to see Addie shaken. CAN'T WAIT for December 3rd - 2 EPISODES!!
The promo - what to say about the promo? Ridiculous is what I say. If Vi sleeps with Addie's dad, it is going to take a LONG time to repair that mistake. But maybe the crisis w/Addie's parents will bring her closer to Naomi, which would be nice. PP rules!
Can't wait - and I really am looking forward to some great MerDer scenes!! Love Grey's! Not sure how I feel about the Owen/Cristina/Teddy triangle yet, but we'll see.
Ok, totally agree with J here - what is it with these reviews? How about just a real "recap"? Anyway, thought this was a good episode - did miss Naomi, but that was OK considering it made sense. Kate Walsh is fantastic. Looking forward to seeing Addie's dad next week!!
And no, Addie and Sam are not going to be anything more than friends- HENCE the laughter!
Pretty good episode - I agree that Izzie wasn't painted in a good light, but we'll have to see where Shonda goes from there. Loved the Bailey scene - Chandra is amazing - and I liked the Chief's flashbacks at the end.
Well done. Teddy is interesting - certainly more likable than Hahn. Should be interesting to see what happens between Teddy/Cristina. LOVED seeing Ellen back - she's great! Looking forward to next week!
@Holly - Addie knows about what goes at SGH/Mercy West because Bailey gave her a quick summary during the previous cross-over, including that Mer/Der got married on a post-it. Correct me if I'm wrong!
AMAZING! Loved the background info about Naomi, and I LOVED the scenes with Addie and pet discussion. It's super ironic considering Kate loves animals, but it works well. (My personal favorite is the pet store scene/Addie's comment about her pet hermit crab).
On a less humorous note, Kate did a great job w/Addison's reaction to her patient's death - the single tear was enough - and that short scene with Addie and Naomi was enough to get me to next week. LOVE that friendship.
Really can't wait to see Addie trapped in the car with her patient next week. Looks great!
Love Mark - can't wait to see him in LA - and Addie in Seattle is always super fun to watch. This should be interesting - I kind of hope that it stays "top secret" instead of seeing all of the details leaked before it airs, as is the usual with Shonda/ABC.
Kate Walsh is so great - Private Practice last night was probably the funniest episode I have ever seen! The discussion about Addie's previous experience with pets and the scene with Addie and Naomi in the pet store (as well as the ending scene with Sam) were priceless and hysterical.
AMAZING. That was SO GOOD - great writing, great acting, and congrats to Chandra in her directing debut! Patrick is such a good actor, and I loved how all of the characters were still visible in this Derek-dominated episode. And yes, the diaper thing was an important comedic contribution to an otherwise-serious show.
Isaac, played by the phenomenal Faran Tahir - did anyone see IRON MAN???? - was a great character. I loved his story and how he talked to Derek about all of the loss and sorrow in his life before Derek tried for the first time, and I loved how Derek quoted him when he talked to the chief at the end.
Basically, GREAT episode. Definitely one of the best this season. Well done. (And Izzie not showing up - yeah, getting worried about Alex's reaction to her return.)
I agree, the Violet/Pete scene toward the end was well-written and well-acted. But I also agree that the show will improve once we can get past the major focus on Violet's recovery and back to more medicine.
I miss seeing Addie and Naomi together - at least there was some of that in this episode. But I miss their friendship more than anything. And I can't wait to see Addie talking to the cat! Private Practice rules.
Moving away from Pete and Violet for once, I miss Naomi. Audra is such a great actress and she's barely had any screen time this season. That NEEDS to change! And it would be great to see her sing on the show, though that would be very difficult to find a reason for . . .
Who wrote this summary? I completely disagree that abortion is taboo on ABC - we know Violet had one, and Addie aborted Mark's baby and eventually confessed it to Callie on GA. So it's NOT taboo - PP last season discussed it with conflict between Naomi and Meg at Oceanside, and GA has had several episodes including abortion discussion.
I agree, J, that Addie/Sam are fantastic. The parts with Addie realizing she can be an ass at times were amazing (KW!) and the beginning with the two of them hiking was hilarious.
I miss the Naomi/Addison friendship, though. I really do. And what is going on with Pete going downstairs and Charlotte moving in? That's just weird. And the Sheldon thing was a little strange, but I'll let that go.
Good acting last night, although I agree with this summary that Dell's plotline wasn't as good as it could have been.
PP rocks! I can't wait to see the trial next week, and Addie is talking to the cat 2 (?) weeks from last night! That should be fun to watch.
Yes, Derek's comment was perfect. AMAZING episode - I loved how Shonda got everyone in and the flashbacks were great. Well done. The whole thing was great.
And PP was GREAT as well - Kate Walsh rocks. Some pretty great scenes in there. (Addie realizing she's an ass at times, Coop with Charlotte, Naomi and chocolate. Good stuff.)
