I had forgotten that the plane incident was him following Naval orders. It counts but maybe not in the same way as Verna. She may have attempted to assinate him and wasn't be any account an angel however, I don't think Fitz killed her because she admitted that but the fact she told him about the election. She was about to tell David and his presidency would have been over but this time in disgrace. As much as he says he would give it up when it would come to it for Liv, I do think he wouldn't throw it all away.
I wholehearted agree with your first sentence.
Why does Fitz always get self righteous when he talked to Mellie? It's was like on some level he wanted to pick a fight with her when she was signing the papers. His comment completely uncalled for. Mellie is no saint but neither is he. The dig about the jurors was low. She may have blood on her hands - even though Huck did the killing. Yet it funny that he has conveniently forgotten that he also has blood on his hands. First shooting down a plane with over 300 civilians then he killed Verna with a pillow with his own bare hands. His hands have more blood than hers.
I haven't watched any episodes of this season a part from this one. I will say that at some point, most of the cast will like and understand Penny. Pretty much all of them have been in her boat. April made a mistake and the woman with the young son died. Derek, made a serious a bad judgment calls and the a pregnant mother died. Karev, made a maths error is season 2 and a patient died. Bailey and the chief listened to George's dad rather than what they knew. They all know that even though they can't save everyone, there were ones they could have saved but failed them
Overall a decent episode episode back. A good setup for the season. Even though it seems like Daphne will take on the role of the brat this season. I am looking forward to it. She has a reason, her dad is now in jail. No one seems to care about that at the moment and Maddie has her dad with her. Plus even though Deacon does seem to care about her you can tell it's not in the same way, which she is picking up on. Scarlett and Gunnar bore me. I can't stand the will they, won't they? So I'll skip over them. Juliette maybe be horrible to a everyone, Rayna, Layla her management but I still enjoy every moment of her as Hayden does not fail to deliver. She's played every single emotion perfectly. Numbing, drunk, bitchy and others. Julietteis such layered character. Even though I loved how Rayna when too meet her after the disturbing phone call and cutting her lose professional, (though she didn't last season when she collapsed, still haven't got over that). What was Rayna really expecting? Juliette wasn't going to pour her heart out even if she called her in a state the night before. I don't think she is even going to acknowledge her feelings until she hits rock bottom.
I wish they had put in a scene about Rayna finding out about Juilette rather focusing on what the media was saying. After all she is an artist on her label I enjoyed the Juilette and Avery story but everything seemed disjointed in this episode.
Funny thing now is that we know all the family knew that Andre was Bi-polar from the beginning except Cookie. Yet, no one still thought about it and wanted to help.
Funny thing is, how were they selling her? I mean what was her USP? Here's the woman the U.S. president loves and you can control him? As there affair is not public knowledge. Or under the guise that olivia worked eithin the White house and has information that is highly sensitive which enemies will benefit from? If it's the latter the price would be high.
A great episode with the NSA, hopefully it is the end of that now. Alicia and Peter seem to have found themselves again, especially Alicia. I don't ever think Alicia was like that with Peter, she was stood by him as a wife and will always run to him in a problem as seen through the 5 seasons. One thing I did notice though, when Jeff said they was picked up saying NSA he mentioned it was a speakerphone yet Alicia knew it was Clarke's phone, without him saying so. Hey, I'm just being picky, though I loved her takedown.
I love how they show the decent of the evil queen. It denned like the early days of her marriage where that hatred was beginning to build and fester.
