THERE IS NO WAY JEREMY STAYS DEAD.....SILAS WILL GET HIM BACK WITH BONNIE'S HELP. 100%. It's sad but it's true - TV's not used to such bold steps. You are kidding yourselves in the round table, that he will stay dead.
Plus Elena's new state - no humanity etc, will just make here a much boring version of Katherine.
@Tom - You put it so right....If there was something like NetFlix available in India, we would have paid and done it. In fact, despite 2 seasons of Homeland being finished, the 1st season of Homeland starts from Jan 16 here. How is that fair? Not to mention plenty of scenes will be cut too, as you can't have an R rated show air in India. Honestly, my life would suck without these shows. :-(
And if there was a legal way to watch it when it airs, I'd be first to jump on that bandwagon. If there is such a way, please reply and let us know here.
As a huge Homeland fan, it's hard to admit, but there is no doubt Dexter wins hands-down over Homeland this season.
Jennifer Carpenter for the Emmy? Why the hell not!!!! She was brilliant from blurting out that she loved Dexter, to those final minutes of the premier and of the finale. Great performance.
I loved the review, and I personally share very similar thoughts on both the season and this episode in general.
Coming into Season 2, I would never have excepted Homeland to match the heights of Season 1. But to my surprise Homeland started off really well. It was in fact, towards the end of the season, that Homeland started struggling.
Episodes dragged on, wishing that I was more like my room-mate, and could multi-task at the same time. It just stopped being as captivating as it once was.
The Dana-Finn storyline was crap all the way, and the family has been needlessly involved in the storyline. In fact, to me they were just a filler for screen-time.
At the same time, I'm almost relieved that Nazir did turn out to be a master-mind after all. He sure took it's time to get there.
As we wait 6 months for Season 3, I do look forward to why Brody was framed? If it was Abu-Nazir's plan at work, at some level he did love Brody, so why frame him? Why not place the bomb on someone else's car and park it instead?
But you should have stated what you were comparing to in the review itself. We all thought, you were comparing it to previous seasons of Dexter itself, not the The Walking Dead.
I think we need a flow to the reviews....Matt did it for the first 10 or so episodes, and you did for the penultimate episode, and this one.
I don't mind either of your writing styles, but it's the fact both of you have such contrasting opinions on this season.
I agreed with Matt, and others here - that this season has been so much of a step-up, and I for one could not disagree more with this statement - "There's no denying that season 7 has been a labored, less exciting season than the previous 6" or "Ridiculously slow".....So damn inaccurate imo.
I'm not into detective shows, but this one is slowly turning out to be my favorite show this season. Even over Homeland, and Dexter.....And that's huge in my opinion.
@Jarrod - I have been actually thinking that for a long time. Ever since they first on-screen interaction. There's something about her that's really pleasing to the eye.
I so agree with your review (which was published very late though).....In fact, as an Homeland fan, I hated this episode. Despite such massive story-lines being played tonight, they did not captivate my interest at all....The Abu Nazir thing was so crazy, the way he died just did not give me any sort of justice for this great show.
Also, a little confused here, so help me out. What was Abu Nazir's mission coming to America? Was it just to kill the Vice-President? If that was the motive, why did he just not tell Walker to shot the Vice-President last season, as he was one of the best snipers. But his motive has always been bigger. At least, that is what I thought.
@Matt - Where is the Homeland review? Did you like the episode? For an episode with such massive developments to the story-line, it was kinda boring and slow-paced? Does anyone agree?
Agree with Sarah, I think I am gonna enjoy Will and Laura together..... Alicia and Will is over so the characters have to move on.
Plus I think Will being morally grey will come to the focus when he starts dating her which is always interesting to see.
@vampbarbie - Caroline should be sired to Katherine if anybody. But they said that sire bond is rare in vampires. I know, the explanation sucks.
I agree with what you said about Klaus, he should have definitely died last season. Most lame evil character ever. Just because a character is good, doesn't mean you just forcibly involve him in the story...For eg -: Look at Breaking Bad, just because Gus was fantastic, didn't mean you changed the end game suddenly. But this is me being stupid comparing VD, with Breaking Bad.
Btw it's ridiculous that Caroline calls Damon evil, when she falling for Klaus - 'the most evil guy', and her friend Stefan was popularly known as the Ripper.
@Matt- Any chance Julie Plec actually reads this review's?
Not surprisingly but a lot of comments nevertheless - Agree with most of you, they should have taken a break from the love triangle. Introduce it latter on in the season if you must, but this back and forth does get irritating after a point.
Thankful for so many things - round tables which have a good sense of humor in them, the fact that when you review an episode you don't do it scene by scene like other sites which is just annoying as we too have have watched the episode.....
Thanks especially to Showtime (surprised no one mentioned it so far) for making two of my favorite shows this season - Dexter and Homeland....Sunday's wouldn't be the same without you :-)

Secondly, and much more importantly
Elijah is so much more awesome than Klaus. Would have loved it if Daniel Gilles played the lead!!!
Thirdly
Phoebe Tonkin is super over-rated on this site. Was refreshing to see so many commenters who voiced the same thoughts.
