You all know I adore my NCIS , but I will be honest, I was deeply disappointed in tonight's episode. It was predictable from the moment it began. I am also finding that as this goes on, the team interaction is becoming .. this hurts to say, also bland. I am not going to criticize the show merely because I am a huge NCIS fanantic.. it is because of this that I do. Going from last week's top 2 --Engaged was brilliant to this episode was a let down .. I also am noticing that lack of flow with the shows.. they take us from the emotion to almost a breaking action and it is jarring.. Abby's arc of being adopted has ceased to appear.. it's not like NCIS. I know I know.. I rank this season as one of the best.. but I do hope that episodes like this are not standard fair.. Really was not happy with it.. and that is rare indeed.
(con't) As an adoptee, I know that Pauley P through her character will treat this subject with the grace it deserves.. the episode was quite touching for me and I know for so many other adoptees. I was adopted at the age of 5, so of course I always 'knew'.. but but.. what Abby goes through is a common thread. She has the benefit of being surrounded with love to cushion her -- as I said previously however, I sense its time for her to grow up now and face some things she many never had to.. The 'mystery'? I disagree.. what mystery? If you did not get 'who did it' by five minutes in, oh kids... go back to CSI . Yikes. I don't think anyone paid attention to the mystery , the only plot we paid attention to was Abby and Gibbs. This one was hers. And deservedly so. The plots of intrigue are never the strong suit on NCIS, it's the characters.
‎**Gibbs honest to goodness OMG reaction when she ran the DNA** **Yes he is concerned that Abby will get hurt.. reference his question to Abby in the lab (when he gave her her brothers phone number) and also what he says to her in this scene. Be careful what you wish for in other words, the truth may not be what you think it is** **Did Gibbs now all along ?? I think he might of** **and the very real personal reaction of Gibbs (evident throughout this season) He has taken a backseat this entire season to the investigations..allowing Tim, Ziva, McGee heck even asked Jimmy a question to take the 'lead' .. he is there, but not in "Gibbs type manner" almost in a overseer way.. IS NCIS setting us up for the release of his team to either fly solo or fly together sans Gibbs.? I think so.. NOT NOW.. but soon. He knows they are capable.. question is can he let go?** **and the most emotional for Gibbs regarding Abby..what IF Abby finds her mother, her father.. and the happy ending happens..where she turns to them - needs them.. where does this put Gibbs? NOOO I am not saying Abby would not need Gibbs, or dismiss Gibbs..but ..her relationship with him may change and that would destroy his heart.** Many character changes are happening on NCIS..because I see the beginning of the wind up.. It's a great season..and number one in the ratings.. but eventually all shows must end.. and I think they are beginning to wrap it up in a nice way..a soft landing..Hard to imagine, but the writing and the direction of the season says so much.
zzzzzzzzzz just leave Gibbs alone -- I am so tired of these women characters always having to be "B*** breakers" enough.
and before you jump on me.. I adore this show more than any other on television.. so relax.. To be critical of a story line or an 'arc' is not being unfaithful.. it's being honest. You can't love every thing every time.. then you are not a 'fan' you are naive. and while we know Sean is on some funky vegan trip.. he needs to eat a cookie immediately.. in fact eat a dozen .. too skinny and too weak.. however seeing "Tim" expand his character this week.. brilliant.
this was without a doubt one of the finest NCIS episodes, just wonderful. However.. and I am going to say it again..get Tony off the 'self flagellation ' ..and I hate to disagree with you, but if Palmer is not 'laugh out loud funny' with his inanity , in fact, I am finding him annoying as the time grows. Noticed alot this season so far in so much as our Gibbs is concerned..He is taking a step back allowing this 'kids' his 'team' to get 'there' on their own.. not as much pulling them along. He also is taking great joy in watching them reach the conclusions they must and great pride as well.. The writers are in a way setting us up for the final removal of those training wheels for this series.. and they are doing a very good job in laying it out for a well rounded conclusion. No. Not this season, but I sense soon. The character arcs are shaping and coming to fruition.. finding out there backgrounds in such details and helping them over that final hurdle.. It was Weatherly himself that said, "Tony would go through some personal issues to finally clear the way for a relationship with Ziva down the road.." ( paraphrasing but close there) .. Great season so far.. much better than last week's show.. no more guilty nonsense Tony.. move it along now.
Stop the soul searching Tony. Please. Granted it's all 'mature' of us to say that we 'love the show'.. of course we do. However.. enough now. Enough. Michael you are the 1% who does not like Ziva..enough said. As for Tiva - we know it's coming (thank goodness and I can see the road from here as Tony does get his baggage out of the way) . Best scene, Gibbs. Smacking the sense back INTO Tony. Now lets put the tissue down. This episode was what I call 'jamming' on the brakes. We have gone from some very emotional character arcs to 'getting back to the game'.. and it jarred some, however.. all and all a solid B. I am not one who will say " I loved it !" Simply because I do love this show and the writing so much, I will be harder than most in criticizing when I see it becoming an exercise for the actor and not the audience. Be careful here NCIS. We do love the show - however, I sense the road approaching the end. That is okay, in fact, I would like it wrap up on Season 10. It will be most fitting.. for all of us, fictional and non. Palmer's rules.. ahhhh not so much. Ducky and Cheryl Ladd, now that I am looking forward to very much. Tony has not learned all he needs to know yet, but Gibbs is sensing and so am I that Tony is about there..as soon as he lets some of those shields down, including the one that we have all been waiting for.. that Tiva ending scene, with Gibbs walking someone down that aisle. .... Until then.. Gear up.. ! PS) Kate is dead. Thank you. ugh Bringing back her sister....... zzzzz
as I said on a previous post, this show, one of the best ever written has fallen into inanity. Stop trying to fix House or punish House because it makes the writer feel better... Let House be House.. or do us all a favor and let this show end.. Painful.. I could care less about Cuddy/Huddy/Buddy .. Just give him his meds, let him get to work and let's all enjoy our House.. But , no, I can see another season of tedious soul searching ahead.
oh larwd.. this is just getting painful. Bring our HOUSE back and stop this inane plot ... I am so sick and tired of the writers need to either 'fix' him or 'punish' him - give the guy this vics and lets get on with it.
A friend for Ducky perhaps... just sayin...Awesome, now kill EJ and we got a deal.
