The funniest episode of the entire series, IMO. I was already laughing before the jokes started just anticipating the payoff would be hilarious. Jared and Ellen scenes were great! Hoping for more of those in future.
Liked the pilot. I'll keep watching.
Most intriguing character (although he's despicable psychopath) was Junior. The candy-striper gets an honorable mention too. From the way she was talking to Barbie, It sounds like she's got some mental issues too.
Loved the bits with Tao, Sanchez, and Andrews. Tao's enthusiasm in the face of danger went along perfectly with Sanchez's obvious disgruntlement over having the writer with them.
Did not miss Ms. Rios.
Overall a great episode!
I liked this ep a lot. There was a lot going on, and all of it interesting. I liked how they played the flashbacks through several points of view to keep us guessing. Jury, for me, is still out on the Dr. She still has plans to change the world, but we still haven't been told if it's for good or bad. From the Dr.'s POV, she's doing something good. That doesn't necessarily mean it's good for the majority.
Amanda's chances for reelection are still good ... as long as Datak plays fair. In other words, it's not going to be so easy. I'm sure in an upcoming ep concerning the election, the Datak camp will be coming up with some kind of scheme to ensure victory, and I'm sure part of that plan will involve covering up his past crimes and/or smearing Amanda's reputation. Election campaigns in the future won't differ much from the present in the regard.
I liked the ep., but some parts just seemed "played out to me". IDK, maybe I'm jaded by too much tv, but the dual Hals and the whole Anne knocking the dude out and running away with her baby seem like variations on scenarios that pop up in every tv drama that has ever aired. I'm hoping there is a twist the writers have up their sleeves that make it unpredictable. I have faith that I won't be disappointed. And when Cochise explained why he was fighting, I thought there was a lot left out. I'm still not sure what he meant by, "fighting for a flower." Did he mean an actual flower or a flower as a symbol for the homeland he has never seen? If he was talking about his homeland then why is he many light years away from his home fighting? If his enemy is so far away from his home planet, why follow them? The threat has moved on. It sounds more like revenge.
I still have no idea whether the Volm can be trusted.
I've been thinking that Seward is innocent of of murder. Having his foster care-giver tell him that his son forgives him for a murder he didn't commit was so ridiculously frustrating and surreal that Seward laughed at it to keep from breaking down. I'm just not sure why he doesn't profess his own innocence. Maybe he's keeping his mouth shut to protect his son. Maybe that's why he seems so crazy. Living on death row with that knowledge..?
Not sure the minister is doing any killing. He might be involved in some way. I just assumed that he was at the shelter most nights keeping unwanted guests out and making sure the kids staying there were safe. That's his alibi.
Holder is still my favorite character. Everything about him is well done.
"highlights from this episode" were all good ones, but you left out my favorite from DJ: "Chocolate Jesus" LOL!
I really wasn't sure if I was going to continue watching after the first couple episodes. However, I really liked this episode and I hope the series continues in this way with multiple story lines in each episode.
LOL, Tahonia. Love the Heroes connection!
"One minute he was reading his mail, the next he was dead." LOL! Once "John Doe" took the stand I knew there would be some lol moments. And the chalkboard diagrams of So far I like Ms. Locklear's role. I'm glad she's not being written as a straight-up, cold-hearted bitchy character, as seems to be her M.O. in many of her tv roles.
Damien saying he was visualizing the judge was great! And having Rachel talk him into releasing the footage shows that her character can be humorously mischievous.
I'd like to see a romantic interest develop for Pindar and/or Carmen.
The new judge was hilarious as well. Who is that actor? I've seen him in a lot of shows and I usually like his characters.
Oh, and I'm leaning toward whomever is controlling Burke is someone new. Why? IDK.
