This was epic because Momma Shade was killed by the "mirror mirror on the wall". Did anyone pick up on that - left over from season 1. Renard to momma Shade "Mirror mirror - Dagger dagger" and it all bounced back. I have to admit I thought Nick would be the kiss - but Renard being purged to a pure heart might be a game-changing gambit.
I think Peters return was great and I don't remember him as so evil in season 1. He was getting revenge on those who killed his family. I loved the bonding of Isaac and Scott via the "vet/wizard". Hope Isaac survives the season.
I sort of enjoy the show but you can't bully a critic into critiquing a show that they aren't invested in. There are a lot of shows that aren't reviewed on this site. But how many hours and people are there to review every show? So TV Fanactic reviews shows that their reviewers are invested in. That is the way the world is.
After having seen the whole season - I can say that this was a major episode. We have Nick realizing that the Wessen are so scared of him that he can't always be effective. (re Cat and Mouse). Plus he realized that Munrose and the kid would have a stronger link. So we get the introduction to the continuing Eisenbeiber presence.
They should have named this episode "Fox and Hounds" because it is quite clear that the Fuschbaus are the wily foxes of the Wessen and of course it was great that the BBW took out the hound. One my fave episodes since re-watching the whole season. This and the next episode about the "beavers". Great season development.
@raisin girl
You are totally correct! It is quite clear that Renard is a complety diffrent order from Grimms and Verrat. I love how the show uses "Germanic" sources for the Wessen - the real Grimm brothers were linguists who derived the development of shifts in languages from IndoEuropean to most of the Germanic languages including protoEnglish.
Please let Ray survive! I love his character and he has had a good influence on Josh lately -on the other hand Nora really turns me off - she is to like the wacko female purebred. Funny how the two versions of this show have spun the werewolf offspring. George had a "human" baby - OK she was the key to the "saving" of the world.
The beauty of MAGIC being back is that the magic in the characters is also back ---- so Jefferson has his back, Jimminy has his back, etc. Who knows what powers are back and do the offspring have powers too?
@Kansas
Thanks for following the logics of the show. Of course the beauty of the mythos is that it is still unfolding - sort of like "Lost Girl". And how can we not have "Nick, Nicky - Mom" not emblazoned in the memory for next season!
I must have missed the covenant that said being a Grimm gets passed down like a superpower. In the first two episodes it was clear that there a few Grimms in the world as well as a few Reapers. So where did the mythos that "Grimmdom" came down on the death of a familty member? Maybe it a talent that takes time to debelope. Cleary from the finale Nick's mother didn't have to be dead for him to inherit his Grimmness.
Unfortunately it didn't do well in the "coveted" demographics of unemployed 14 -30 year old meth heads and alky's who apparently control the whole economy of the US.
But but but ... wasn't Elena supposed to turn into a vamp long before this? I realize the show is aimed at female tweeners but the show is based on a book series from the early 90's. Weren't there a lot of complaints from the bookies at the beginning of the show that it didn't follow the books better? And didn't Elena wind up with Damon?
Go Evan! Re broads - better than bitch. Look it up on google where you find that some words were more respectable in the old days. Then there is the British "Cow" which to me seems worse than "Broad".
I must have watched a different show. Linden is such a crappy mother that I can't imagine what Jack will become. On the other hand Holden is a better parent for Jack than Linden will ever be. I have to say I am not surprised that the show got cancelled.
I also enjoy the show it reminds me a little bit of Charlie Jade where there are three universes red, blue and green. Charlie was a PI who actually used water to travel between the multiverses.
They could also have called this episode "Fathers and sons". I hope that Josh can reconcile with his "maker" and I am so happy that Henry has Aiden's back.

Well his Mom is alive, apparently, so the pilot was wrong? Or did they rewrite the show when they got picked up?
