Personally, I think this show is amazing so far! While it does have a good deal of violence, I don't think that's so rare these days. And this has the best "Holy S***!!" moments since ER! I was caught completely off-guard when Emma stabbed her mom! And Jordy dropping down from the ceiling? Super-creepy! Even the music was a great choice - again, evoked the scene in ER when Carter was stabbed... gripping, nerve-wracking, and intense. And played exceedingly well by all parties involved! Always loved KB and JP, so that's not too shocking, but so far the rest of the players are holding their own. But I'm with Claire - Joe's the only one I trust...
While it wasn't my favorite epi, I didn't totally hate it either, as so many here appeared to. I actually liked the case, and the real killer came as a total surprise to me! ESPECIALLY after seeing that C. Thomas Howell was the cult leader! I get a bit tired of the bad guy being the one recognizable guest star in the show, so this was a nice twist! I did think the mugging for the camera went on too long... you would think that after a few days of this, the guys would get back into the case and being the great cops they are, rather than trying to create sound bytes for the camera crew, but whatever. Cute, but kind of "meh" imo. STILL a huge fan, no matter what they do! Especially after the fun of last week's show! Keep it coming, Castle!
I hardly even know where to begin with this episode. It was so moving, and poignant, and touching, and inspiring to me. I particularly loved Arastoo's monologue (or "rant" as some have called it), as I have some Muslim friends who were near me in Philadelphia when the planes hit, and I know that they were just as shocked and appalled and saddened by the actions of these extremists as I was. I also loved that he was bothered by the fact that he couldn't put this "homeless man" to rest, as he deserved. Then to have that man turn out to be not only a war hero, but a hero in the 9/11 tragedy as well? I don't remember an hourly series ever making me cry so much, or reminding me of that horrible day in such a non-sensationalistic and propagandasized way, and I truly appreciated it. And no - I'm not sure those are real words (ha). As for the butt-slapping... that was just Bones trying to understand a societal behavior in her usual endearing, awkward way. BRAVO!!!
Love this epi! Even though you know nothing truly bad will happen to Castle, it still kept me a little on edge, wondering who would do this to him and why... As others here, I loved the library scene, but I also loved the scene with Lanie - it led me to think that Kate was upset about the "affair" that Castle was having, but turned out she was just scared and worried about the man she loves. She's a very pro-active kind of woman, and not knowing what to do to make it right and prove his innocence was taking a toll... Also - @Ali Sr. - "We need SERENITY from our ruggedly handsome writer RICHARD CASTLE" - LOL!!! Was that an intentional nod, or just how that came out? Either way I loved it! :)
So many questions, so many possibilities... Gonna be a GREAT season!
First - let me just say THANKS AMC for the Walking Dead weekend!! My last pathetic excuse for a cable company didn't have AMC (or much of anything else, for that matter), so I missed all of S2. GREAT to be caught up with one of my fave shows!! I agree with pretty much everything said here - both in the review and on-line. LOVED the Carol/Daryl chemistry (Daryl is my fave character, so it's nice to see him lightening up on a rare occasion). Carl is less of a burden, so less annoying. Lori is getting her due (couldn't stand the self-righteous having-my-cake-and-eating-it-too thing she had going on, and actually LOVED it when Andrea called her on her BS!!) - and LOVE the idea behind the walker baby!! Very curious as to what will happen with the others they found in the prison... would you just let them join up? Since they are in a jail, maybe they could bring them to their cell block, but keep them lock up most of the time? Also curious as to WHY Michonne has two pet walkers?? So many questions, so many possibilities... Gonna be a GREAT season!
And just a side note... I didn't realize how creepy my handle was until I saw it posted... sorry about that! NOT a mad stalker or anything! LOL!!
I may get bashed for this, but I wish we could go back to the days where the show was more about the CASES and less about the RELATIONSHIPS!! I love when the whole Jeffersonian team contributes a piece of the puzzle, and Booth intimidates the suspect into confessing. THAT'S what made me love the show from the beginning... and there were only teasers about the personal relationships, not whole episodes devoted to nothing else! About this epi - I agree with most others on here. Brennan's reaction to the dead tiger was too much and out-of-character. Glad Sweets broke up with Daisy (otherwise known as the Most Annoying Character. Ever.), but didn't like the circumstances... I mean, really - he didn't know it was a momentous thing? How many degrees does he have again??? The running for Pres thing was kind of funny, but over-done. Just kind of a meh epi, imo.
But I digress... I do think it needs to get back in the lab with the core people, and maybe one of the less-annoying squinterns. THAT would be refreshing!!
I actually liked this episode - it was cute and funny, and just lighthearted. I actually like Sweets. I think Sweets is, well, sweet! Though he's finally growing up a bit (been a giant kid who's extremely naive!). Maybe this thing with Starling is him realizing that he doesn't have to be with the first girl he loved, and that there are other possibilities for him? I sure hope so, because I'm in the "Daisy-is-the-most-annoying-character-EVER" group. I mean really - who plays one-upmanship with their BOSS on a regular basis??? Anyway, I think Sweets has more layers to him (remember the scars, people?), and this ep was a way to flesh some of those out (excuse the pun). BUT - I'm also with some of the others on here - BRING BACK GORDON GORDON!!! HE was genius!!! And WHY does every character on a show have to be 20-30 and gorgeous?? I kind of miss the old TV shows where characters looked like real PEOPLE!! But I digress... I do think it needs to get back in the lab with the core people, and maybe one of the less-annoying squinterns. THAT would be refreshing!!
