This was a truly annoying episode. I really get tired of shows that continually let th e BAD people go. Nikita and Amanda. These people and Dr. Jedikiah Price who is upper management for Ultra and obsessed with eliminating The Tomorrow people and yet, we have Jonathon, with a handgun aimed right at this BAD guy's head and he doesn't pull the trigger. Am I missing something? You have someone that's your nemesis that wants to destroy your way of life, inject you to change who you are and yet you keep the guy around. I've seen so many shows in the last 60 years where the villain is caught and could be eliminated; in some cases the villain plead for their life, "oh, I'm gonna change" and the moment they get the upper hand they turn on the person being kind to them. You know it would have been 10,000% better to kill off Jedikiah and replace him with someone more sinister. At least that has some modicum of common sense and 'reality' of what normal / paranormal people would really do if their lives were constantly in Jeopardy. After the incident at the Citadel, Kara is now pissed off and in her confrontation she says "What does that matter. We have to start playing by his rules if we want to survive." HELLO? Anyone there? You just had the PERFECT opportunity to kill that SOB that's making your life a living HELL but no, he's a main character and can't be killed just yet. So the cycle continues ad nauseam / wash, rinse, repeat with Jedikiah the ever present thorn in every one's side. How many clear opportunities have there been since the series started to kill Jedikiah and they didn't do it. I'm only watching the show now for the eye candy and I want to see what's up with the Dad. The constant Ultra thing w/Jedikiah is now just an unwanted distraction from that part of the story.
I have to agree with @bobr. (to some extent - not all commercial planes have the systems to do a full autoland and in the case of Airbus, the Airport must have at the very minimum a CAT II ILS system in place, it's preferred to have a CAT IIIa or b) . This episode was just silly with respect to Finch 'flying' the plane like they're doing with drones. A CH Products Joy Stick w/out pedals and the other controls to manipulate the gear and flaps and brakes and a whole lot of other things especially communication with ATC. The hijacker changes the flight path at cruising altitude with the visual reference we see on the computer monitor being too far away to land. He pushes the throttles forward which would almost immediately put the plane in OVERSPEED and then does more than 25 degree bank at which point (with NO autopilot engaged) they're fighting in the flight deck. Then dramatically, Finch somehow connects and then all of a sudden the plane is lined up for an approach? Really? Okay, I believe that... sure I do ... not really. It was kind of classic Hollywood where Finch is (sweating) 'struggling' with the controls as if he was flying an old DC6 4 engine prop that had some kick in the stick when it got turbulent. Not to mention that the Sat feed would never have allowed for him to simply 'take' over the controls. It would have been much more 'nail biting' for Mr. Reese to step in and do the landing with ATC help. That would have been MUCH MORE BELIEVABLE! This is what you get when you have an educational system that turns out mush brains. Writers that don't have a grasp on reality and the people that will believe it. POI stretches things but it's not SciFi. to the extent that you can quickly attach a joystick to your USB port and start flying a JUMBO.
Please, I don't want to see Pi ever again and well, Alex's character is a bit played out. Send her to college in England or Stanford out West.
When is this pile of doo doo going to go away and free up the time slot.I've watched a lot of TV since the early 50's and I have watched an awful lot of sitcoms. I've never, in all of the years of watching TV, watched 5 episodes of a sitcom that failed to make me laugh even once. I laugh more at Friends rerun (parts of some of the episodes I've seen 15 to 20 times on YouTube for example) than I have laughed in 5 episodes of this show. How is it still on the air?
For me, 24 rises to the top of the very top of my fav show list. I think that it's the real time aspect and interestingly enough, my favorite part of the show was the first part of the first season. I think that that is when it was truly at its best (for depicting) the real time aspect it was also before they dumbed it down a little. Yes, there was less action, less formula and less pizazz and more 'real' life. A lot of what happens in real life, the staking out, the driving from place to place a gun battle that lasts for 30 minutes with people ducking and hiding while trying to stay alive is what really happen. I am happy the show is coming back. I liked "Touch" and miss that show a little bit, but I was more frustrated that Kiefer's hands were always tied with respect to the fact on that show he was not a trained Agent but just a Dad looking for answers. It will be good to see Kiefer on 'steroids' again.
You can't fix crazy and that's me. First, I'm a big fan (I don't know why) of Bangs on women. I love them I always have, but that's just me. Next, I like the departure from the old CBI format. I don't think that the actors are happy about filming in Houston because I lived there for more than 5 years. It's HOT and HUMID in the summer and mild and HUMID in the winder with a very occasional Ice Storm in the Winter. The HUMIDITY is a deal breaker and being rainy and stormy and cloudy and FLAT is also a deal breaker for me. I like Jane's attitude this season. This is what I WANT and YOU are going to give to me. Way to go Jane! I would like to see them all migrate to an FBI California. Much nicer landscape and weather.
And one more thing...John Bonham would still be alive to day if our Government had the same War On Alcohol as it does for the War On Drugs. Oh wait they did, it was called Prohibition and that FAILED ... MISERABLY! No other drugs OTHER THAN ALCOHOL were found in John's body during the autopsy. No one has ever died from swallowing their own VOMIT from smoking WEED ... EVER!
We have been fed so much DISINFORMATION about drugs in the last 5 decades that no one in the general public really knows what is the truth. It's been so illegal and the fight or war has been so bitter than people are just rabid about this issue. All I can tell you is that the "War On Drugs" (WOD) is a complete and utter Failure! Criminalization is NOT the answer but you have to DIVORCE yourselves from your current way of thinking about (disinformation) drugs in order to see this. I have three of the many sites I have visited and researched about this problem that I would like to share with you. First on the list is that Portugal used to have a major drug problem that is until they decriminalized every single drug from Heroin to talcum powder; Weed to Oregano and everything ELSE in between including uppers, downers, speed etc. It's been a RESOUNDING SUCCESS! http://content.time.com/time/h... Second on my list of things for you to understand is that there are many in Law Enforcement officials, officers and administrators that sees the WOD as nothing more than Prohibition and anyone that is smart enough to learn from history will know that Prohibition in any form, brings a 1,000 more problems than a cure.Law Enforcement Against Prohibition: LEAPwww.leap.cc/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/L... And finally something that was probably the biggest "Eye Opener" for me in terms of Big Government, corruption and a whole lot of other factors that I never contemplated until I saw this video. If everyone watched this, marijuana would be legal right now! (Share!!!) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v... Education, Truth and common sense are the only things that should prevail. It took me quite a few years for all of this to sink in; to see the BIG picture that's really there and not what's been painted for our constant viewing by the Media and factions of the Government that want the WOD to continue.
"Hey. Psst. let me talk to him ... Yeah listen it gets worse ... oh yeah ... yeah, wait till she asks you to take her bra shopping ... or or when the first boyfriend shows up ... you're gonna love that. You ain't seen nothin yet pal, so put on your big boy pants cause father time is not your friend." ROFLBest dialog I've heard on any show in a long time!Great episode. Glad all the gang is back!Missed Catherine, she should have at least been at the party being part of the team and Steve's current squeeze toy don't ya think?
I missed Catherine too, but she's part of the team and Steve's girlfriend. How does she not fit in?
