@Zeo (cont.)...........But, after a couple of episodes an actor looks at what is best and acts accordingly. Lauren did not change until it was too late. The damage has been done, and I do not see them repairing it and changing peoples perception. They blew it, not all LG's fault, but some. She has a voice, if she does not use it she will not last in the industry.
@Zeo......I don't know how many times I and others have said that it is nothing personal against Lauren German. We agree that the character is flawed which is not all her fault, they introduced her wrong, made it look like she was taking over, and 3 members of the team got very little screen time due to her presence in the first 7-8 episodes. That is why people became angry. Not necessarily at Lauren, but at the character. However, she did not play this person well, she was very stiff and could not show empathy for at least 11 episodes. This may be due to the fact that the writers kept changing who she should be and she was not sure how to play the part.

I watched the first season's 1.3 episode. At the end when they are watching Steve's highschool football games, Danny asks why is a quarterback wearing number 50. Steve says "its not 50 its 5-0, my dad called the family that because we were not native hawaiians and he wanted us to feel like we belonged, so 5-0 for the 50th state". Kono said she liked that, and that's what they named the task force.
@Jeffrey......none of us knows for sure whether Lori is staying or going, and the H50 people are not going to say until we actually see it happen, if it does.
Also, Hawaii 5-0 has nothing to do with the number of people on the team, they explained this in the first season, that it was something senior McG made up to make the non-Hawaiian natives, (Steve and Mary), not feel so bad, and also that's why Steve wore number 50 on his football Jersey.
Kono was the one who suggested that they call the team 5-0.
This is a question off of Mega Buzz;TV Guide, I thought you might be interested for those of you who were wondering why Max's name was not Asian.........
Got any intel on Hawaii Five-0? — Kerry
ADAM: What's in a name? Masi Oka's medical examiner Max Bergman is about to find out. "You're going to find out why he was orphaned," executive producer Peter Lenkov teases. "You would never think Masi would be named Max Bergman. So, you're going to find out why and that whole backstory is a very emotional journey."
@Amazingalex.....I can't believe it. I got a lot of info from the AOL rocks website on H50. She had stuff on there faster then CBS. There are other websites, but this was the best. Well, there are other things in life, I wish her the best.
I guess we have to wait until next week to get any Promo for the 2.15 episode. Watching 2.2 I remember Lori not bothering me as much at this point, but it took a very bad turn the next 5-6 episodes. Kono hardly not there until 2.5, then pushed aside again. They have been better the last 5-6 episodes. I hope Michelle Borth stays as a recurring character.
@Jschoi.....I know the one you are talking about. That was done in the summer before Lori appeared. I do see it every once in a while still. When Steve was being sworn in by the 1st governor over the phone in his father's garage, and the others with a voice over swearing in. That's a good one.
@Amazingalex......I don't know if it means anything, but to point out 4 ways to say "O" is a little suspicious. They aren't going to say either way, I'll adjust no matter what.
I don't know if this is the same that Jschoi was talking about, but Plenkov tweeted a new promo, you can also go onto Youtube and put in the search, "New Hawaii five o four reasons" and it will come up. Lori is only in the scene when they are walking all together, otherwise its just the core 4. Four reasons to say "O". I don't know if its something that means anything, but Lori's absence does make you wonder. Unless they are still just playing with our heads.
I have watched this show from the beginning and have loved every year. I am looking forward to the 200th episode. Yes, the characters have changed somewhat, but they are basically the same. People change why shouldn't characters grow and change. I am not a fan of team romance, a little flirt now and then is fine, but usually its the kiss of death to a show when they start to pair them up. I hope there is a 300th episode, I'll still be watching.
Hi Jim G.....The link I posted earlier has been erased. I know that happened to something Martinelli posted for her blog. If we are not suppose to copy those, although they are public, then let me know and I won't.
@Lena....Yes, you are probably right. The sweeps ending dates for both February and May end on a Wednsday. I doubt they are going to show a new one when everyone else has ended. I remember, not too long ago when the network series would end in June, not May. Pretty soon it will be April. It all a money thing.
By the way, ladies, that is not Autumn Reeser in the 2.16 episode photo. Look her up on google. It definitely is not Gabby, Danny's new girlfriend, who I think had reddish/blond hair in the introduction. Its probably Michelle Borth in the picture and the picture is too far and with the change in her hair style it has thrown us off. Besides, Catherine is scheduled for this episode, and Autumn Reeser is suppose to make an appearance before the end of the season according to PLenkov, but he has not said when.
It was written that Teilor Grubbs who plays Grace, was only scheduled to be in 2 episodes this season. So I guess a lot of what we get, even from CBS, can be changed. I'm glad to see Grace and Rachel back, 2 episodes in a row. I was wondering why they would leave them out of this one,(2.15) since it has to do with Danny's past.
Had to split this in 1/2, too many characters, I am only printing guest cast: rest of 2.15 press release.....

“Mai Ka Wa Kahiko*” – A dirty cop from Danno’s past comes to the island to exact revenge on Danno and his family for ruining his life, forcing Five-0 to find a way to help their teammate, on HAWAII FIVE-0, Monday, Feb. 6 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
*Mai Ka Wa Kahiko is Hawaiian for “Out of the Past”
@Amazingalex......"job security" LOL....I don't know about them dating, they look cozy. I read that Scott has a girlfriend, but who knows if thats true or if its still going on. I remember someone saying that he was the one who took her under his wing and they became friends, again who knows for sure. I just wish they would say she stays or goes, so we can all move on and/or adjust.
It looks as though the picture was taken with a phone camera.
@amazingalex......It's really hard to tell isn't it? I know she is only about 5'3", so the height looks right with her heels, same coloring. The picture is taken from far away so they could get everyone in. The haircut makes her look different. I guess we will see when 2.16 comes out. If it is, its nice to know Steve introduced her to the team. I hope this means she will continue as his girlfriend.
According to Nielsen ratings, the sweeps dates for February and May are,
2/2/12 thru 2/29/12, and 4/26/12 thru 5/23/12. So you are right, Jschoi, we will get at least 8 more re-runs before the end of the season, starting with tonight's 2.2 re-run.
Thanks for looking that up about the original Kono. The original is a little ahead of me, but I do remember re-runs of the original, and I don't remember Kono only being on there for 4 yrs, but I was a kid. It was a different show and time, so its not going to be the same 30 yrs later, and I wish people would stop comparing.
On AOL Rocks they are saying that CBS tweeting James Caan will be in an episode in February is incorrect. He will be filming in February and more then likely the episode of 2.18 will not be shown in February. This is site is usually pretty reliable, and since they just started 2.16 on Friday, according to AOL rocks, then I guess we won't get 4 new ones in a row. I hate re-runs.
@Chris.....I remember watching re-runs of the original H50 and Kono, although a man, was there as much as Chin Ho Kelly in the original. But there was not a Lori at all, so by your logic, Lori should not exists in the new H50. Thanks for pointing that out. I have no inside info, just a feeling, that Lori will stay. I so hope I am wrong.
Grace Park is a great female Kono and adds to the show. She can act.
Now I am seeing 2.16 will be "I Helu Pu", which I can't get a translation of and it does have to do with the Russian Embassy. So I guess that they are going will all of this in one episode.
2.17 is "Kupale" which means to ward off or defend, I can't find anything else on it.
@Lena......yes the one with Alex being deployed and Catherine is 2.16, but the one I was referring to was with Chin and the international incident he almost causes. I read a small press release for 2.17 saying it had something to do with the Russians and some sort of weapon, so I assumed the international incident would be with the Russians. I know 2.16 is being shown on 2/13 the day before Valentines, and 2.17 would be 2/20, even though Chin is thinking of a Valentines gift, it could still be on 2/20. I could be wrong, I hope they don't try to jam all of that into one episode and we get very little of each.
I agree, it can't be Vance, he would be killed off 2 shows. It could be Nate, which is "someone we know well", even though he has not been there for the last year or so. Hetty and the core 4 would ruin the show, anyone else I could live with, may not like, but could live with.
So since we know Papa Caan is in 2.18 and it will be aired in February, then that means we will actually get 4 new episodes in a row all thru that month.
I'm really looking forward to that, as we suffer through repeats the next 2 mondays.
@jschoi....You might like this. Below is a spoiler from TV Line's Matt. I think he is talking about 2.17, where there is something about the Russians being involved..........
Hawaii Five-0 | Checking my Twitter feed again, @reikoafans wants to know when might next see Reiko Aylesworth on the show. A Five-0 rep assures me that while Chin and Malia are quite happily married, Aylesworth’s next visit has not yet been booked. Which isn’t to say Malia is far from Chin’s thoughts while at work. In fact, there’s a February sweeps episode where Chin nearly triggers an international incident involving a possible radiological weapon – getting in big trouble with the lieutenant governor – all while struggling to think of something special to get his wife for Valentine’s Day. How about just staying out of prison, pal?
