I really liked this episode. The ending was both heart breaking and relief. I agree that H50 really knows how to turn up the emotional notch, and the actors really know how to show it. Very well done. I'm glad we are starting to get the Kono/Adam story heating up, I'm sure its a big part of the finale. Love that Grace Park is getting her turn. I still don't know which way they are going to go with Adam. Is he good or evil? Looking forward to the final two episodes.
@Mr. Mike....I believe they were going for the symbolism, as a cop is not suppose to be doing that, so for a few minutes he gave up his badge. I know its not legal, but 5-0 does get away with things a real cop would not. Who would not want to beat this guy? The actor by the way was great, he played the creepy guy perfectly. @Walter.....thanks for the info on the lead biker guy, I was wondering if he was real. Peter getting his inspiration for the episode from him and letting him be in the episode was great. And I also thought it was a strange coincidence after watching the episode, finding out about the 3 women being held for 10 years.
I loved this episode. They are setting up Steve to realize what he has in Catherine. Despite the haters, this is a great character, and perfect for Steve. Michelle is a wonderful actress, and has great chemistry, with a wonderful actor in Alex. Each episode they have together shows that. Even though we did not see the rest of the team much, they played a very important part. The funeral scene was both heart wrenching and heart warming. They are all Ohana, and is why most people watch each week. Like it or not, Catherine is a part of that, as is Kamekona and Max. Jimmy Buffett plays the character great, and yes it was mentioned that the character was named after a character Jimmy himself wrote about. Perhaps why he plays him so well. I loved the prequel, I think it gave us a lot of insight to McGarrett, and why he is who he is. Looking forward to what they have instore for us in the final episodes and next year.
A few words for the reality police. This is TV, and you can say the same thing about all shows on TV. It's not real, it's not plausible, it's acting, none of these characters are real, none of the situations are real, it's make believe, it's entertainment. You will enjoy shows and life much better if you remember that. Reality is what happened in Boston yesterday. Be upset about that, not a TV show.
As for the episode, I thought it was a very good one. I liked the crime, I loved the humor, and the Magnum PI references at the end. Still hoping we see Tom Selleck back in Hawaii. Putting the picture on the guys leg making him look at what he had done to his own friends was a great touch. Kono to the rescue. As someone said, Wiley coyote style, for the old road runner cartoons. I see H50 has been renewed as we all knew it would be. I'm little more nervous about the 5th year and if they do move it to another night, how that will affect it.
The Catherine character is fine. If they put her in an episode, people complain they are showing too much of her. If they just have her show up for one segment, then they don't know what to do with her. There are going to be times when all of these character are their in one segment, and then get an episode centered around them. The only one, as it should, is McG who is the lead character and is in most of the show. Danny comes in 2nd because of the relationship to McG. Chin and Kono are a close to Danny. The rest of the regulars get their shots as well. No one is being overdone. I don't understand the comments about how Steve looked at Catherine in the last episode. What were you looking at? He obviously was showing that he understood, probably did not like it, but understood what Catherine did. Afterall he can tell the difference, he Mom made excuses, but Catherine said she was wrong.
I thought this was a fun episode. I think they showed Dog the bounty hunter at just the right amount. I loved that Catherine finally told Steve, and I'm glad that he understood it was mostly Mom, and he decided to forgive. Although, Steve is the one who through Catherine into the Mom situation, so he can't lay all the blame on someone else. I liked the Black clothes he was wearing, he wore them for the funeral scene which is where they came from. Alex looks good in anything. I'm liking this season. I do agree that I would like more answers coming faster about Mama McG. I guess they are building up for the finale. I would also like to see them settle the Adam's brother with Kono's gun thing before the end of the season. As for the Danny haters, I understand you don't like him, but did you notice when he whines so do you? Just a thought.
Cont.... Loved seeing Larry Manetti, playing a Nick instead of Rick as he did in Magnum. One of my favorite shows of the past. I'm still holding out hope we see Tom Selleck. They left it open for Larry Manetti to come back as he was Senior McG's friend, and probably an informant. Just like his Magnum roll, only much older. Nice stop by the older Nick, knowing he could get him with a short cut across his establishment. Well we are off for the next 3 weeks, not too many episodes left.
Hi Gabrielle, thanks for the review. I'm a football fan, but I understand not everyone is. I liked this episode very much. I do have to agree that Catherine was already at the game, and afterall it was a separted shoulder, painful, but not exactly life threatening. I was impressed that they showed Danny staying with Steve. I don't think Steve dumped her, he has already said he was going with Danny before he knew Catherine had tickets. Even though her tickets were actually sideline passes. Catherine was very thoughtful for getting Danny a signed football by his favorite player, and I was glad to see she took Kono. Chin has been producing a local theater play which will end on March 2nd, which is why we probably have not seen much of him in the episodes.
Cont... As for this episode I loved that they showed the softer side to Kamekono, and thought it was hilarious when Danny could not put the handcuffs on him, and asked if there was a bicycle chain in the trunk. Summer Glau did play her emotional scenes well, and I loved her kickass scene. I hope we see her again. Doris and Mick make a good couple. I do hope they don't take long to explain what actually happened with Doris and her connection to Wofat. I don't think that will have to end the character.
