It was a horrible ending! Here is how it should have ended. The episode start the same way. Abby should never confess though. Then when Ben finds out the coat turns up when Abby disappeared taking a walk he starts putting clues together that Abby killed Tom after over hearing the fight. Ben and Dave go over all the events and decides that Abby did it to keep the family together. Ben tells Dave he can't let his baby go to jail, it's his fault for failing her. Ben turns his self in and the events go almost the same as in this episode. Cornell says she knows Ben didn't do it almost the same as what happened but she doesn't say she knows who did it. Then in the very last scene you see Christy burning the last bit of evidence that she was actually the one that killed Tom. If you watched the "14 months later" it should have happened the exact same way except without the mention of Abby. Cornell comes in and tells Natalie she knows her father didn't do it and says she wants her help. You can tell Dave doesn't know what to say because he thinks Abby did it. Everyone does. But does Cornell know who the real killer is? Who ever Cornell thinks it is she means to see them pay for the crime before they kill again. A good set up for season 2.

Secrets and Lies Season 1 Episode 10 Review: The Lie

Totally agreed with your whole review. great review to a show that had promise but had probebly the most disapointing, irritating and just plain silly finales ever.

From Canada, we couldn't access the final clips on abc.com. Could someone please outline what happened. Thanks.

@ JT

abc were so short sighted regarding this, why put it online when persons in canada won't be able to access it. i won't tell you what happened only because some who will comment haven't seen it so i dont want to ruin it for them on second thought *SPOILER ALERT*
cornell seeks out Natalie on her 18th birthday a couple months down the line to recruit her to help get Ben out of jail and punish Abby for the crime committed. .

Irritated that producers said this version would end differently than the Aussie version, but they changed very little and it was just too predictable. It showed a total lack of creativity and what gives with the 14 months later clip being online (not at the end if the show) and did all that past tense talk mean Ben died in prison.

@ Liz

yeah him dying was implied which i hate because abby indirectly caused yet another murder while she is out and living life as usual

"I thought the whole point in the anthology shows is that they have a clear beginning, middle and end. Clearly we've been the victim of some false advertising. Why should we bother to watch the next case if we don't get the ending we deserve after sticking with the show?" have to respectfully disagree Paul. This may not be an anthropology as previously advertised. OR they could try and fit both (new murder plus Tom's murder) into the series next season so cornell is solving one murder while still trying to get abby arrested for tom's murder. anything is possible and the writers left themselves with a little bit of wiggle room to work with. i find it hard to believe they will leave tom's murder like this if cornell will be in season 2 trying to solve another murder "I'd like to give mad props to Indiana Evans who plays Natalie. It is clear she is a rising star and she has a burgeoning career ahead of her. All of her scenes this evening were fantastic. She really was the only Crawford who wasn't acting deluded." i think this praise is more for her being the only one that acted in the way you thought appropriate and not necessarily deserved praise to the actress herself who is just playing a role.i thought if anyone deserved a standing ovation it is belle shouse for playing the innocent but not so innocent 12 year old murderer

Penny Dreadful Season 2 Episode 1 Review: Fresh Hell

Great premiere. Looking forward to seeing Helen McCrory and Eva Green face off. Two brilliant actresses. A review: http://polarbearstv.com/2015/0...

wonderful episode. abby, christy, jess, natalie have all been stellar this season leading to many standing ovations. the finale did not disappoint with all four playing up the crazy and seeing the final outcome was pretty much spot on to what i expected. i need another season of this show especially with the aforementioned. i can't get enough of kadee strickland, belle shouse, indiana evans and natalie martinez and it will be thrilling to see natalie team up with cornell to take down abby

I'm glad you liked it. Where do you think they would go in season 2 if they kept the same cast? It was widely reported that this show would have a new case every year.

quite a coincidence, i touched on this in my second comment. i think they could easily have story concurrent storyline running simultaneously. why should cornell only be involved with solving one murder for the entire season when she could solve two. that's my hope at least. i can see thi main cast taking a back seat but all while still inching closer and closer to pinning abby as the murderer

Outlander Season 1 Episode 13 Review: The Watch

You might be interested to know that the scene where Jenny describes what it feels like to be pregnant is the first piece of writing that Diana Gabaldon shared with the world (on an internet forum). Up until that point she had no intention of publishing Outlander, she was just writing for practice. The positive reaction to this scene is what encouraged her to share more and eventually publish the book. So to book-readers, that scene is very important and I'm so glad they found a way to include it (albeit shortened and moved in time).

Revenge: Canceled by ABC!

I'm on the fence about this show. I knew from the beginning it only had 4 or 5 total seasons in it, especially after that 2nd season. I will miss it because there is squat on TV these days, but better it end this way with a bang, than with a watered down whimper.
