Stop me if you’ve heard this one before: Charice is joining Glee.
No, really this time!
When that rumor began to spread earlier this month via her loose-lipped manager, Charice herself shot it down via Twitter. “I just want to let you all know, that it’s not true that I’m going to be on Glee,” she said.
Well, it’s true now! Sources confirm to me exclusively that the international pop star is signed, sealed and delivered to recur next season as a foreign exchange student whose killer vocals get Rachel (Lea Michele) contemplating murder.
Not literally, mind you.

Hmm. A while ago, it was announced that the three new characters for season 2 would be a "male mercedes", a boyfriend for kurt, and a rival for Rachel. Then, the news about the Christian character was announced, and I figured they had dropped the rival idea. But.... could this be what they were talking about? Charice is a fantastic singer, and I'm curious about her acting skills, but honestly, I wanted some more unknown talent. She can do fine on her own, she doesn't need Glee.

agreed.... i want to like her, but I just can't for some reason... i could maybe handle like 2 episodes with her, but if she's going to be a regular, I'll be really mad and disappointed. They need to pull another Chris Colfer! A completely random, unknown person, and look how well it turned out. Not someone who already has a career.

I'm also expecting a NEW talent.. not Charice again agh!I'm Filipino and sorry if I may offend anyone but I seriously never liked her in the first place. None of my friends do, her fans are mostly non-Filipinos. She needs to stick to her music alone. BTW, she doesn't stand a chance against Rachel Berry.

We've seen how Rachel can get when she comes up against competition. She's not going down without a fantastic, epic fight. Plus, the song that kinda made Charie famous (And I Am Telling You) has already been done by Mercedes. So that takes one weapon out of her arsenal, so to speak.

and Mercedes killed that song (in a good way)! She doesn't even stand a chance against Mercedes on that one. She should stick to music. Glee should pick the non-famous but talented and stop giving spots to the ones that already have names.

And the rest of that... exactly. Wasn't that the entire point of their open casting calls? It's not fair for her to get the spot automatically, because she's already well-known. What if an unknown can do it better?
