blair ran away with dan because she wasn't thinking straight not because she wanted to start a romantic relationship with them (lol).

Did any of you see thw tweet from the writers : A fan basically wrote that she felt that Blair wasn't being herself at all this season and was this what the writers intended - they wrote back " Yes, Absolutely". This is worrying the writers know Blair isn't being herself and are saying its all intentional. Could they not actually write something in character for one of these people

think we need to see some more girl power on the show we do - Georgina.  Sure she is crazy and evil, but the girl sure can multitask: she has a kid, she has a boyfriend/husband who is either scared of her or really does love her to bits, she also has a career of ruining people's lives.  basically, i think she is the woman some of you wouldn't exactly mind Blair being like: evil, bitchy, and inspiring fear and repulsion in the eyes of everyone except her husband who is either too scared of her or too blinded by love to care.

@Ain't Born Typical - i am nt saying I want Blair to be like that - my point is that Blair IS that person, always has been , the writers have changed her beyond recognition , even they have admitted that. If you watch back Season 1 & 2 like I did recently - its a completely different person. I am all for human growth , but not personality transplants

I think this is what Dair fans sometimes think we Chair fans want Blair to be like.  But B was never evil, she never inspired fear in everyone (just her minions, a very limited group), and Chuck is not scared of her and would call her out in Seasons 2 and 3 (I am thinking of several specific scenes).           As a Chair fan, I can truly say that the Blair that I knew and loved wasn't a villain or evil.  Nope!  She was Queen B.  The Alpha B*tch.  A badass young woman.  A diva.  Beautiful, brainy, witty, bitchy, CONFIDENT, brave, and oh so brilliant.  Driven, ambitious, quick witted, sharp tongued, with not only brains and the hipster tastes Dair fans point out, but also extremely high social and emotional intelligence.  Now, THAT's my Blair.             I think that the writers lost their way when they chose to deviate from the books and not send her to Yale.  They could have at least given her Columbia.  I know they believed that NYU helped her character grow, but her SL in early Season 3 didn't work for many viewers, and she's lost her edge since.

I totally agree with you Dr Holland, this is a beautiful description of Blair as she was in season 1 and season 2, and that's how I would like to see her character portrayed in future episodes. Now, you know what's weird? That the only moments in which Blair was still that amazing woman, that you have just described, so far were when she was with Dan.

Their "brainy, witty, bitchy" banter, the way he encourages her to be CONFIDENT (You are an evil dictator of taste, the W internship, "You deserve to be with someone that makes you happy", etc), Driven, ambitious, quick witted, sharp tongued...looks like a Dair conversation, emotional intelligence? Shall we mention the fact that the only one she has been honest with about her feelings, her secrets, is Dan and that they pushed aside any kind of flirtatious behaviors (they used to have in mid s4) when more impending situation came across?

But there are moments in which she's weak, scared, insecure, she's small, sad, she can never smile or shine, she's resigned to be a woman at the arm of a man, moments in which she's convinced she doesn't deserve happiness because she is a bad person, moments in which she makes a brilliant remark and it goes wasted, moments in which she acts like a little girl or finds nonsense excuses because she isn't strong enough to take decisions on her own...and I am sorry, but anyone would agree that the one person who made a hell of a good job in turning her into this person is Chuck. Blair said so herself.

I don't mean to be rude, believe me. It's because I realize we have the exact same wish for Blair's future character development that I am trying to understand why you are not excited as we Dair fans are that she might actually have a chance to be that person again... when she refused to be bought back by Chuck last night but she asked for Dan's help, I was excited that she may actually have realized that she needs a person by her side, and not a person above her.

@Dictator Blair - this is a contradiction of sorts- Dan didn't like Blair when she was the Queen B in Seasons 1-4 , they only really found common ground in S4 . So i am not sure why he would ever encourage her to go back to that when he never really liked her when she was that person

Gossip Girl Quotes

And who am I? That's one secret I'll never tell ... You know you love me. XOXO, Gossip Girl

Gossip Girl

[to Jenny] That's the thing. You need to be cool to be queen. Anne Boleyn thought only with her heart and she got her head chopped off. So her daughter Elizabeth made a vow never to marry a man. She married a country. Forget boys. Keep your eye on the prize, Jenny Humphrey. You can't make people love you, but you can make them fear you. For what it's worth, you're my Queen. I choose you.
