i hope there would be no more vanessa from the next episode till the end of the show because......
Since someone already said it better, i'm just going to quote at the amazing ggkoolaid girls:
"The Mary Sue Syndrom: V is shown as a strong moral character who is willing and eager to listen to anything either Nate or Dan have to say. There’s this girl who is just perfect in every way because thought she makes mistakes she always apologies and ends all with a dimple smile. Vanessa voices her dislike for all things UES so it’s ironic that she’s using the SAME tactics she so despised to her own purpose and agenda.
The Blackmail: She SEES how affected Blair is by the Marcus/Catherine pictures, B was crying. Yet, she uses those pictures to blackmail B. Once the blackmail backfires she’s shown as the victim. She has the nerve to tell Dan that she was used. B wasn’t wondering how she could screw over Vanessa. It was Vanessa who showed up at a school that she doesn’t even attend to blackmail Blair.
The WTF: How exactly can the writers think that having it seem like Vanessa understands Chuck more than Blair will show her in anything other than a negative light?
Jenny's Letter: This is when we have character assassination. Because at this point nothing that Vanessa claims to be can be considered true. She claims to despise what the people in the UES do but she does it. And even after the whole NJV drama she keeps BOTH the guy and the best friend.
The ‘Poor Vanessa’ moment: (in The Grandfather) I see it as the manipulation tool used to make us not only feel bad for V but to justify her actions in coming episodes. She’s ONCE MORE, used and abused to make Nair look like it was ok.
Because if you (writers) have not up to this point made me understand ANYTHING at all about why this character does what she does and believes what she believes I will automatically make her the reason things are not working out. It’s an scapegoat created by the writers. I didn’t create her, I didn’t destroy her, I don’t control her. The writers do.
It’s too late to redeem her. When a character is treated the way she is, so sporadic and unbalanced in both her actions, motivations and consistency it makes her dangerous. Makes me wonder of what they are willing to do with her and what they think they can get away with. Because once Blair and Chuck are together and Nate is doing god knows what, what can be done with her character?
You’re welcomed to like her all you like. Just like I’m welcomed to hate her all I do."
Sorry for the looooong post!!!
ok so my sister was in new york last week and when i got back from italy shes like " guess what? i saw someone from gossip girl!" i like freaked out! im like " omfg who???" and then she said " jessica szohr" and im like " oh... i thought it was someone important. thanks for the false hope!"
it was such a dissapointment
I think what the writers were planning to do with V was put more depth into her character and make her more twisted and, weirdly, I think the writers sort of wanted to make V seem like this hypocrite. I think they wanted V to have more angles and make her character a little more imperfect, sort of a like, not all good girls are what they're cracked up to be. Make her more flawed. Sure, we can blame the writers, but, in the end, it's how the actor portrays the role. I mean, I think that if Ed and Leighton had not played their parts the way they did, we would've hated them as much, saying that Chuck is just trying to hard to seem like this tortured womanizer, and B is looking like one of those blonde mean girls in movies that is just trying to hard, again. Even Penn, I must admit, plays Dan well. So, I think that JS destroyed V and vice versa. Not a fan.
BTW, did you guys see how V cried during 2.12, it was just, freakin' annoying. Also, when V discovered N was sleeping with the Duchess, the way she delivered like: "blah blah you and someone's mom", she made it seem like the worst line ever, totally not in a good way.
LOL, chucksbabydoll :)) I think most people would have the same reaction.
P.S Sorry for the extra long post! :) ^^^
GJP2. i totally agree with what you said about how effective all the other actors portrayed their roles that even the "supposedly mean" characters are loved because of them.
i am not saying that JS is a terrible actress, just maybe lacking something to make her role more interesting and loved.
*if someone shows up in here and says we have no right to "dislike" V and all the other things they say. well, go ahead because no matter how well some of you argues about it, it still wont stop the resentment for the said character.*
She's so hypocrite!! She blamed jenny cuz she want to be part of this world but jenny IS IN CONSTANCE!!! She have friends there!! Vanessa is NOT!! and She wanted 3 GG Biys and have 2 of them!! She always criticed Blair and Serena but she's worse!! Serena and Blair, even Jenny cope what they do!! She DOESN'T!!
Anyway I hope I'm clear and what I said make sence! Again sorry for my english!
No, but thnks it's haley from paramore!! I thank she was famous in states ...
Well I hope she's going to be in the next episode because she makes everyone itch and if she can do that, then V/JS is doing her job. haha
