We shouldn't have to reset our settings on our tv's in order to hear the show!!  We will never watch the "Restaurant" show again, it's impossible to hear the dialog over the stupid elevator music.  Too bad, because we like the show.

Doesn't anyone with authority read these reviews?  What is the benefit to anyone to have this horrible music playing during an exciting show?

I can not stand the loud music that's play on tv shows. I am watching a rerun of Mcbride and the music is so loud I can  not hear what is being said. I watched McBride when it first came on (2004 or 2005) the music was not this loud. NCIS now is so loud almost all tv shows the music is so loud I don't watch I would rather read a book than to try to watch tv. Why do they add the loud music? What is the purpose of the loud music? Well I am on my way to the 1/2 price book store.

I found a setting on my JVC TV (HD-52Z575) in the sound menu accessed via the remote with a separate button from the regular menu that allows access to AHS (A.H.S) and BBE (also "Smart Sound" for certain models).  AHS purports to "add a more spacious surround sound. "  I turned this off and the background music volume dropped dramatically.  BBE turned on, not off, also helped.

Background music is too loud to hear the words.  Scriptwriters might as well go home.

Reply to "Amy" I'm sorry that you are still rocking a 1980's tv with turn knobs and a speaker, but the rest of us have new tv's and surround systems with stereo.

We thought the someone had to be complaining about this ridiculious music, it is so loud that the show is just unwatchable.  We stopped watching it live because of the commercials, but it still does it from the DVR.

I'm sure ABC is just doing this to advertise the music and itunes; but this show does not need any help. It is just fine the way it is.

I suppose I could turn off the sound and turn on captions on the bottom?

Thanks, ABC for ruining a great show to advertise music and itunes, i hope they are paying you alot of money for losing all your customers.

I too agee that background music is drowning out dialog...watching Grey Anatomy last night 2-14-13 I found I missed entire parts of dialog due to the overwhelmingly loud background music. I find it totally distracting...who started this stupid trend? And why don't the networks get it?  These are shows where without dialog whats the point of tuning in. Revenge is another show and Suits last night. Never mind Scandal...they talk fast anyways and then yor drown them out with music...I don't get it. I pay a pretty premium to get cable and I'm thinking my money is better spent elsewhere. They talk about the ratings and low veiwership and wonder why we're tuning out....stop with th eloud background music...it's called background for a reason...it should be in the background setting the mood for the scenes being shown.

People have been complaing about loud music on various TV shows.  It seems that they are all doing this.  Why I don't know, but I am sick of it.  Maybe we should complain to the sponsers.  I was watching Hawaii 5 O and it was so annoying that I turned it off.

These producers go to great lengths to procduce a good show and then turn around and ruin it with loud background music.  Don't they ever listen to their own shows?

I noticed that when I Googled "loud tv music" that all kinds of posts were there complaining.  Apparently it isn't getting to the right people or something would have been done about it long ago.

Not just abc, try watching Hawaii 50 on CBS,it is so loud it hurts and you have difficult time understanding what the show is about. There has to be something that can be done about this. This isn't the only show either.

Grey's Anatomy Quotes

Did you say it? 'I love you. I don't ever want to live without you. You changed my life.' Did you say it? Make a plan. Set a goal. Work toward it, but every now and then, look around; Drink it in 'cause this is it. It might all be gone tomorrow."

Meredith (closing voiceover)

There's a reason I said I'd be happy alone. It wasn't 'cause I thought I'd be happy alone. It was because I thought if I loved someone and then it fell apart, I might not make it. It's easier to be alone, because what if you learn that you need love and you don't have it? What if you like it and lean on it? What if you shape your life around it and then it falls apart? Can you even survive that kind of pain? Losing love is like organ damage. It's like dying. The only difference is death ends. This? It could go on forever.
