I said it's Melissa! In slither we got to know she was searching for her mothers book, she demon possesed told it to Nick.
The demon possessed her to get the suitcase which contains lots more demons, so Melissa is not searching for the book. As for the other Balcoin, I think it's a red herring they put that Dawn is obsessed with JB, so I'm going to go with Melissa. The preson who said it was Melissa, but they needed the whole circle to be together so they could bind the circle they would need Cassie both ways.

I may be wrong, but didn't last nights episode go out of its way to prove that Faye isn't other other child of blackwell? Considering she spent the whole time trying to gain individual power, and everything failed? even when u look at the clips for next weeks episode, her having individual power is resulting from harm being put on the other members?
therefore, my guess is Diana or Melissa. I would like it to be Mel for the sake of it being interesting, but im also leaning towards diana, as she is one of the only members of the circle who hasnt even ATTAMPTED to do individual magic, just told people she couldnt. AND her familys book of spells has loads on evil and demons....

The last few days I have a different idea in related to the Other Blackwell child! I have a feeling that Adam has a sister, Ethan didn't loved so much Adam's Mom so he could probably cheat with a sister of JB!
So yes it's a long stretch! But they are popping characters out of there sleevs like nothing! So I stick with this Idea!
On the other side I still WOW for Mel! Cause she is the only actress which could pull of being Dark besides Cassie!

I agree with N+S_fan, the last two episodes apparently proved who isn't for sure the other Balcoin.
Faye is the only one who have tried everything to gain individual power, but she failed miserably even with help from outside.
Hoping that the writers will spare us any incest, the only two options left are Diana and Melissa. I was leaning toward the latter, but after the dress-on-fire little spell, there is a strong possibility that Diana is actually the other Balcoin. Since I love her relationship with Charles, IF she really is the other Balcoin, I hope that, as someone has already suggested, JB has/had a sister.
On the other hand the fact that the unknown guy saved Cassie AND Melissa might prove that he is someone who has a connection to both. So actually the last episode pointed towards both Diana and Melissa as the other Balcoin child.
I said "unknown" guy 'cause his boots are different from the ones Jake wears in the last scene of the episode, so...

I think it's Melissa also.
faye would be to obvious a choice as she is already the resident 'wild child', and whenever she has tried to do magic on her own...it just doesn't work...at all.
diana could be it, but she can be put to rest on the account that she looks like her grandmother, and the fact that her grandma tried to kill cassie because of dark magic leads me to believe that if john blackwell was her father, or he has a sister, diana would have been killed.
melissa is the only one left. although she was the first one to really feel the effects of faye in fire/ice, it could have to do with the fact that faye meant to attract dark magic, and got the circle magic instead. so if it is her, she was affected quicker because she has dark magic.
i don't think that they would bring in a new character to play balcoin other child for the simple fact that the with-hunter already said that the other child of balcoin is in the circle.
side-note, it was jake who saved cassie and melissa from the school. thats why when he walked down the steps when adam and cassie were "making progress" his boots were exentuated.
thats what i think.

We'll get to see a moment between Dawn and John next episode... so I think that there was definatly something between them... and the witch hunter said in 2x09 that Cassie's not the only one with dark magic and Faye also wants it so bad... but you're right guys, Faye is the obvious choice...
