What is Maryann's power?

   Okay so Maryann can somehow manipulate people... I get that.  She made people dance, forced Sam to turn into a dog, blah.  But what's her official power?  Is it mind control?  What do you guys think?  Anyone chime in that's read the books?

   Maenads are followers of Dionysis the greek god.  Dionysis's servant was a Minotaur which explains the Bull-Man but what does this have to do with Vampires.  I hope they do not try and tie this in somehow.  I am getting plot nervous.

   LOL @ Derrick

   She is a maenad and they give offers for grapes (alcohol). Hence the reason she is tied to Merlottes, and eventually Fangtasia, why does eric know who to call for sookies back??

   Why dahne has the same marks but seems somewhat normal is beyond me I have not read all the books. The ig is tied into the maenad somehow but I cant remember what the reason was.

   Well, I'm sure that Daphne being a shifter has a lot to do with the way she tolerated the scratches... you know?

    

   And the first question you asked sparks one of my own.

   From what I've heard... in the books Eric dealt with the Maenad before, she sent her "madness" into a vampire and he went crazy. He became very uncontrolable and they eventually had to stake him. but nothing like that has been said yet in the season. I'm sure it's coming though.

   Besides, the lady that he called was your not-so-every-day witch doctor for the "mythical creatures" she just knows her shit haha.
