I think that during the kiss he didn't know, but i think afterwards he knew something was off.. because of the way he looked and touched his lips..
Maybe in the first episode of season 2 he goes back to the house because he felt something was wrong :) we'll have to wait and see :)

i just dont know lol you'd think if he stuck around he would see elena coming and be like wtf. or even if he was leaving, maybe he'd cross paths with elena unless he used his super speed.
i just feel he should have known that was unlike elena to kiss him especially after telling him to stop flirting with her.
