Elena Sacrificing Herself?

So news has just surfaced that Bonnie and Jeremy will kiss... AND that Elena will sacrifice herself to Klaus.
Um, why? Doesn't she have a deal with Elijah? This makes no sense to me...
She has a way out. She can protect herself and her family and friends. Elijah can take down Klaus and he is probably the only person who can.
Why do you think this is happening? Is Elena just doing it cause she doesn't trust Elijah? Or does he betray her? And... What do you think will happen? Will she be saved, turned into a vampire, or just simply die?
I don't think she will just die. It's too early for that. She is like THE main character that everything is centered around. So I don't see them killing her off. Plus, Delena hasn't happened yet. LOL

They won't kill her or even turn her for that matter. We know she's never gonna die unless probably on the series finale.
But I think Elena is using Elijah to draw out Klaus and sacrifice herself and not the other way around; she's been double crossing a lot lately. Why should she when he could kill Klaus? I don't think she doubts Elijah on his word- I mean remember how he spared Rose and killed Trevor. Maybe she doesn't want to piss Klaus off and as Rose said "Elijah is the Easter Bunny compared to Klaus" so she finds a very low possibility of him being able to kill Klaus so she'd rather stick to her original plan and since no one's letting her execute it she's gonna keep them in the shadows and then surrender when he shows up. She's using too much of her Petrova fire only to be sacrificed...learn something from Katherine, girl-It's okay to be selfish sometimes especially when you have a dozen people trying to protect you!

I think Elijah is gonna tell her its time for them to go after Klaus, Elijah just wants to use Elena to get claose to Klaus. It's not really a sacrifice....i think

mabye something happens to Elijah like he dies or something (really hope that doesnt happen) and he cant do anything to protect her anymore

I don't really understand this either, because she made a deal with Elijah so that she whouldn't have to sacrafice herself. What could happen is that Elijah betrays her, or maybe he dies. I don't think that she will die. I can't see that happening since she is the main character. I don't think she will turn into a vampire either, that is too soon in my opinion. The most belivable thing would be that she'll be saved in some way.

Elena will decide to sacrifice herself to Klaus. Not Elena will sacrifice herself to Klaus.
So she will not get anywhere close to Klaus, as this spoiler also says he isn't even cast yet.
As to why she would decide this, it is the decision she has already made. She is very stubborn and will not listen to reason or anyone.

Yeah. It said Elena was going to sacrifice herself.
I was just curious what everyone thought. I don't get it. I know she is a martyr, but she already tried and failed and she has protection and a way out.

lol are you sure this is for future episodes? this might be a spoiler for that first time she tried sacrificing herself.
