So i just picked up this interview here on the site.
I don't know if this was confirmed before, but it for sure is now. Klaus have a human side which is gonna be explored-.-
Not that there is anything wrong with exploring different sides of villains, but his human side isn't the right side to explore. We are doomed to hear a gazillion excuses on why Klaus is evil. This is such a shame.
When i heard Joseph Morgan was being casted as Klaus, i was like "Whaaat??". He looked like a confused schoolboy. But seeing him pulling it off rather good, made me change ma mind. Klaus is evil and Josepg Morgan does that well. Klaus is the first villain TVD so far have managed to pull off. But now this is gonna be destroyed. Exploring why he is evil, will most likely other than giving him excuses, make him a good guy at some point. Because unless it dosen't feel right, we really don't need to know why a person is evil(especially not when it happend 1000 years ago).
His "Masterplan" i believe was the term Joseph Morgan used better not have ANYTHING to do with romance, in particular the original Petrova.
^ This might have been discussed before, but haven't really been directly confirmed till now(else i think i have missed it).

NOt only that.
Klaus is going to have a romance storyline in the present times and according to J,Plec klaus is not hte biggest fish and we will have a bigger fish in the game in this season who will take over as the villain.

I was really hoping that Klaus would just be THE bad guy, and not have this "human side". I know it sounds bad, but I really don't want to see anything but him being a badass.

Just a question,has there been any tvd villain who hasn't gone evil because of love?Just curios lolBut seriously I don't understand why they need a bigger villain then klaus,like surely he should be killed before introducing another villain?he was the biggest villian of the first 4 books,doesn't show klaus deserve the same?Posted 7/30/2011 4:01:02 AM #

And Elena in the books had at least 15 crowning moments of awesome, one of which involving an army of undead and certain other - moon getting destroyed. THe show seems to be ok on NOT doing justice to Elena so far, why Klaus would be different?....*sigh*

I want to know what made him so heartless and evil, even if it's a tragic love story. But I want him to stay evil. I don't want him to turn out to be good like everyone else in the show. And another villain coming is not so bad as long as Klaus stays evil too. I hope for another Original who is as bad as Klaus and he is his antagonist and some awesome fights take place. I know it's too much to ask. But I still can hope for that.

But when they show us WHY he is evil, it is because of the sole reason, that they want us to be sympathetic with him. Why would they want the audience to be sympathetic with the bad guy yer ask? Because he won't be bad forever. . . There is the possibility that he dosen't turn good and Stefanized, but then he will most likely leave the show after apologizing for hs horrible actions. Although him being a good guy is way more likely.
Did we see in "Predator" why the Predator was evil? No.
Did we see in "Star Wars" why the Emperor was evil? No.
You might hate me for this but did we see why any of the BtVS big bads were evil? No.(exept from season 2 but it had context to it)
Did we see in "Lord of the Rings" why Sauron was evil? No.(It was told in another book though, but not in the movies)
Did we see why in "Harry Potter" why Lord Voldemort was evil? No.
We see their goals while they are evil, but we don't see how they got evil very long time ago. Because their is no need in showing us. If they show us and we don't get sympathetic, well then it's just wasted time, because we don't need to know how a person got from good-->evil.
