   It's so obvious that Plec is backpedaling because she wants Bonnie to be "the true hero" (because of backlash from Bonnie fans) and she didn't realize that this made Bonnie look bad.

    

   I mean come on. This is ridiculous. There's a reason why BONNIE might not have told Caroline (if she'd gone ~dark), but there is absolutely NO reason why Tyler wouldn't have told her, if she were in on it. What's he got to lose? At the very least, he would have made Bonnie promise to tell Caroline afterwards, even if they didn't have time before because they were worried that Vamp!Ric would find the body.

    

   Come the fuck on, this isn't rocket science.
