Well, truthfully said, when it fits characters and is built up nicely, its brilliant, for example spuffy and its fabulous hatesex stuff and mutual abuse. Book-DE also started with them both hating each other's guts and only hooking up after Elena DIED and lost what she cares about (normal life she had).
Nothing about this case is "well written" nor fits, nor is built up though. The very fact that the show even TRIES to hook up one of leads with what was supposed to be the MAIN DAMN VILLAIN of entire book franchise makes me:

Yes but isn't the show trying to show us that DE sucks? And Spike and Buffy were never really a couple. I hate you sex that ended in him sacrificing himself for her. That scene was pretty awesome and sad though. "I love you." "No you don't. But thanks". Nice, but yeah, reeally don't want to see either with Klaus and Caroline.
