Klaroline or Forwood?
That's why I loved seeing him act smug around the Salvatores saying that he'd gladly let Rebekah kill Elena and that they had "14 minutes" to do what he wanted, but then it was ruined with the dumb ass apology letter. You don't apologize to someone who helped your mother try to kill you and your family. You just don't. But I think that letter resulted from Esther making him feel like crap for his history, "Even you Elijah with your morals are no better" Still.Posted 10/22/2012 5:17:55 AM #
forwood has had better development and progression than klaroline will ever have.
Too bad Forwood is boring and lame now. Klaroline may not make sense but they have more chemistry than TC and are more exciting to watch. KC banter>>>>Borwood sex. Fact.Posted 10/22/2012 5:21:15 AM #
Yeah @Charmed, we could agree to disagree but I totally see your point. KC wasn't written the way I had hoped it would be anyway. That's why I was a little pleased with 4.01Posted 10/22/2012 5:21:58 AM #
^That's why there are fanfics. That's where I get my dark Klaroline fix. I still enjoy KC regardless. Joseph and Candice just have a special chemistry that none of the other actors do.Posted 10/22/2012 5:23:37 AM #
But if KC ever hooked up (which I doubt), the question is whether they'd be as boring as Forwood.Posted 10/22/2012 5:23:59 AM #
They won't be boring because they are so different and there would be a lot of conflict. (Caroline reprimanding him for killing; he judging her feeding choices) And all the arguing would lead to hot, angry sex. The reason Forwood is boring because they have are too much alike and basically have the same mindset. There's no tension or conflict. Klaroline won't have that problem. But I prefer if they don't hook up just because I like the chase.Posted 10/22/2012 5:36:11 AM #
Bahaha angry tension, I need more drabbles or fics to read.Posted 10/22/2012 5:45:24 AM #
Oh and I'm really sick of KC'ers comparing Klaroline to Rumbelle on tumblr.Posted 10/22/2012 5:59:52 AM #
The thing with Elijah is that he had good enough reason to just torture or threaten the gang into giving him Klaus's body, but instead he just politely asks to be invited in and makes a deal with them.
The thing is? WHY DOES HE NOT? It just makes no fucking sense that a guy who had no qualms of kidnapping a teenager and using her as bait, would suddenly become Mister Morality.
His character degradation began with end of S2 shennanigans and him freeing Klaus because HONOR FAMILY BLAH BLAH BLAHDEE BLAH
I get that he's the moral Original but his "morality" overtook his character to where that was all we ever got to see of him, and it lessened any chance of him being badass anymore, along with the "elenaism"
Why is there even such a thing like MORAL originals? They lived for one fucking thousand years. People get cynnical in ONE lifespan and they lived ten times that. I would understand if you had one pacifist dude but ELIJAH IS NOT pacifist he is just...I don't know what the hell they were trying to do with him.
Frankly the whole Original Family "plot" was pointless and messy.
but bottom line, forwood has had better development and progression than klaroline will ever have. The SL is farfetched the way they handled it and no amount of playful banter and chemistry between the actors can make it feel right/natural.
KC is just...ewww and makes absolutely no fuckign sense and all the pairing can do is damage both characters even further(which is comendable since its very VERY hard to destroy Klaus character even further).
Frankly if Forwood was written correctly I would most likely still put up with the show since Caroline and the whole forwood relationship is the reason I stuck with S2 and S3.Posted 10/22/2012 6:54:51 AM #
Elijah writing a letter is no big deal. Please find another argument. This is the crux of the situation. People are so busy working under their limited perception about the "correct" way to write a villain, they are not observing the preconceived backstory in the show. From the beginning, one specific theme categorized the characterization of Elijah; it was his internal struggle between his loyalty towards his family and his self-imposed "moral" compass. This remains true, even with that letter.
Was the apology necessary? Remember who is steering this ship. Plec. But let's face it, if Elijah had apologized to ANYONE but lamp post, it would have been an easier pill to swallow. Why?
Because you hate the bitch.
Second, "badass" in the American language is not synonymous with "villain". That's a fact. This may be under a more subjective interpretation, but if you trace the history of how this word was used in western culture, you will see it is not only associated with a villain.
Now in my opinion, Elijah is still a great character...for now. He can still tear up that whole down town with a hand tied behind his back period. And considering the options....
You get my drift?
The Forwood had more development argument is just as stale and unoriginal. It no longer matters. Tyler and Caroline have a specific cycle in their relationship now, thanks to Plec:
Dialogue, sex, smile, sex, crying, sex, sleep, sex, dialogue again, sex...
They officially struck the brick wall of Plec's mind and there is no turning back.Posted 10/22/2012 6:56:07 AM #
