better begin with season 1 and move up. Even though it had less overall story arc, I loved the setting back then and the monsters were actually scary, not to mention even though it had not enough story arc, the story arc itself was awesom and actually had coherence(unlike the current "plot)

LOL. EPIC thread. She is by far the worst lead character that i have ever had the misfortune of watching on screen. I'm not even gonna get into her flaws cause, frankly, there are too many and we all know them. Her main problem is.....the EFFING WRITERS. Cause Katherine is awesome.

Whenever she comes on to the screen, which is quite often unfortunately, I feel this overwhelming urge to go to the kitchen for a snack, text my friends, check my emails...

Oh they'd notice, but would they (as in we the audience) care? Awwwwww no. For some reason that only the writers and God knows, they've made her indispensable to the other characters in the show. I think the only 2 unanimous things that all TVD fans can agree on is the nonimportance and severe annoyance that is Elena and the EPICNESS that is Forwood.

Come to think about it, have you guys ever seen a show where the lead character is so LOVED by all. I mean, Klaus wanted to sacrifice her, but he didn't hate her. She is literally the jewel in everyones eyesight. Why the eff is that? I've never seen a show where the lead character doesn't have some people that are just plain mean to them of really hate them. It's so wierd.

It's so wierdAn unrealistic portrayal of a pasty character straight out of disney. It is nauseating and downright pathetic. I have read interviews where the writers make references to other shows, yet they do not have the ability to live up to the greatness of said shows.
CW has a few shows where the writers do a fucked up job. Gossip Girl creator had the unmitigated gall one time to talk about an emmy award winning show like The Good Wife, which is esteemed the best drama on television by critics. How the hell can you take a show on television that only had two seasons and BOTH seasons won emmys and compare it to the train wreck on GG.
Do you know why people watch shows like that? Because it is too damn hard to look away from a wreck; it's kind of like driving past one at twenty miles an hour.
