There are no reporters. The only employed people are Sheriff Forbes, Mayor Lockwood, and Busboy Matt. It's because the town's economy is so bad they can only afford to pay for several positions.

My own head canon is that there are some quicksilver mines somewhere near mystic falls and all the drinking water supplies have some ammount of quicksilver, driving all inhabitants slowly insane.

They can miss school and not get in trouble for it. They only go to history class because I guess that's the only class that matters but they prob won't even go there anymore because Ric is dead. And they'll still somehow graduate. Mystic Falls seems to have some sort of warped time zone because technically its still 2011 there. There's only one restaurant and a pizza place I guess from that one episode where bonnie is ordering a pizza on her iPad. Everybody has got really bad style there. I still say even Caroline had stupidity this season. Don't even try to talk around it
- Now if Elena was drained out of idk, a LOT of blood, it's fucking stupid to encourage a bunch of alcohol and throw a party, because that really could have waited a few hours until after she took a damn NAP. Like how would tequila even help her at all?
- PASSING OUT IN A ROOM AND BEING SENT TO EMERGENCY does NOT require a cup of tea with a SHOT OF TEQUILA. She even suggested it twice. If the girl got sick AFTER the party, then why on earth are you trying to feed her more shots? Did it even occur to you that maybe the alcohol did something
- Did not care or acknowledge Stefan being away, the only one who actually GAVE A FUCK about her being a vampire, and she tells Elena to "move on/get over it" what is this fuckery of writing. Even when he came back and got de-compelled she was "meh" about it
- A douche serial killer gives you a drawing, and you keep it by your night stand, your NIGHT STAND, and blow it off to your boyfriend like it's nothing and claim that the guy is incapable of feeling for anyone. But if you really believed that then why the Efffff is it on your night stand, and it is impossible to not have to glance at that drawing every night since well, it's 1 foot next to your bed. This whole scene was just poorly written so idk if I can even blame her for this.
She may be the best vamp on the show and she could handle her urges almost perfectly since she's a control freak, but gosh this season did not explore her as a vamp at all and just threw her a triangle, a 5 minute father problem, and being everyones voice of reason and motivation. And now this news about her being "Stefans Lexie" is so exciting that I farted out rainbows. Lexie was cool but I do not want another Lexie, stop making the blondes everyones fucking therapist. It's BORING

^^This. I love Caroline but I hate how JP made her become a motivational speaker/saint. She's 18 but acts 30 and is the moral compass of MF. I can forgive her dumb blond moments if she actually did something cool in the last half of S3.
