Why can't they find a middle ground with Stefan? He's either ALL the way uptight or ALL the way to ripperville. He looks like he could be such a cool charcter if he could control his bloodlust and just have fun every now and then. Then it would be LOVELY to see him with Kat!!

I ams orry but even when i cared about this show I never in thousand years would have shipped datherine. Its sick, disgusting and horrible just as KC.
As much as I hate both salvatore bros, Katherine used, tortured, manipulated and discarded Damon like a mere puppet. Thanks to her he spent ages torturing himself and living for one goal of freeing himself only to find out she trolled him.
I will never ship something so amoral and horrible and as much as horrible Damon is he does deserve someone better than Katherine, especially since current Katherine is pretty much "awww Steffie" elena cardboard.

Because its JP running this show, remember? She does not know what cool means. To her cool is Damon -a tantrum throwing, women abusing guy, who never gets called out on his shit. Stefan could be awesome, if they wrote better lines for him but no, they have him riding on his bike in a helmet and that is as far as their imagination can get. As for Kat, I never shipped them, but taking a look at s2, I really wished they explored their relationship more when she broke SE up, I always though there was still some unfinished business between those two.

In all honestly, Kitty stopped supporting them when Damon started to show his more ickish side and all his little secrets of banging the mom and the "raping" Car came to the for.

all that you said happened mostly after S1 when Elena was already built up as this incarnation of holiness who would never support that and damon became despicable.
S1 Elena could overlook that with correct character development and barring what he did to Caroline, Damon has been comparably tame in S1 in his behavior. I started stopping shipping them somewhere around S1 finale, after S2 first half hated Damon and after S2 hated the whole trio, so get your facts straight.
