Ok, So I know this seems a little far fetched but...

This is probably not a big deal and I may be reading far too much into this but is anyone else curious as to why Papa Salvatore hated vampires so much? I mean he seemed to be the Founding family ring leader. Why would a human be so wary of vampires? That seems a bit random. And hate them so much to the point of killing his own sons? Whats up with that? I know Im probably too suspicious but anyone else think the same? If the reasons have already been dealt with, please let me know because Im still a bit confused. Thank you!Posted 6/14/2010 4:30:17 PM #

maybe something personal happened? (going with what shrimpie said) or maybe not. even still vampires are almost always looked at as the big bad unholy creatures who cause nothing but harm. given that they need blood to even survive that's true. so either way it's not that weird for him to hate such a hatred for them. at least i don't think lmao.

I just think it was the time period. He probably was a very religious man and vampires were seen as being demons from Hell.

Not nessecarily. Vampires are creatures that are evil. It could be just a matter of Good vs Evil. There's really no room to have a personal vendetta when it's cut and dry like that. I mean there could be a reason that he hates them as passionately but realistically he really doesn't need one. Vampires have always been 'evil' No matter the time period, setting, city, state or country. They've always been looked at as evil and impure and they've always been feared. Fear too could play a part. People do have a tendency of fearing what they don't understand, so again it's natural to me that he'd want them dead.

I get how vampires are scary creatures and automatically, an average human would want them dead as humans tend to fear what they dont know. Its just that when family is somehow involved, you immediately get sensitive. You are torn, no matter how evil you believe vampires are. Guiseppe killed his sons before they became vampires. He killed them just for siding with one. So basically what im asking is, what kind of person would hate vampires so much, even past the love of his own sons? Oh well. Maybe you guys are right. It just seemed a bit off.Posted 6/17/2010 2:10:10 PM #
