I never trully liked Elena anyway, even in s1.. I always thought she was weak and a crybaby.

Lol she has a hoarse voice when she cries loud. I remember when Damon forcefully fed her vampire blood in S2 and she cried out in this goatish voice.Posted 12/3/2012 2:56:25 PM #

She wasen't any kind of character in S1 either, so no reason to like her. Back then, it was still expected that something would happen with her, but since then it have been 3 seasons of the same cardboard. . .

Well not completly true, there were an interesting SL(but shortlived) with her search for her mom and looking into her family background.

With all due respect, if one takes the angle of her being in grief, she had a decent character build up in season one....the problem being that it was destroyed by everything after S1.

Even with that in mind I never really trully found her THAT exciting. She was ok.

Frankly back in S1 I kept thinking that she is just bottling it all up in herself and trying to tone herself down due to grief, loss and the guilt she feels for causing her parents' deaths. I thought that it might be just like in the books otherwise - that while she is bottling it all up somewhere at the end of S1/start of S2 she will be turned and all of that will explode, cue character development...
How fucking blind was I, back then?
Frankly now I start to believe that they had a different plan during S1 and actually did plan to go that way (What's with the last episode being called Founders Day, which was the day Elena got turned in the books) and planned to bring on Katherine that way(having her be the one to kill Elena) and then somewhere during filming of the middle of S1 they went "oh hey we can drag this out~!" and took a big shit upon any sort of planning.
