Old Damon coming back?

As much as I love Damon with feelings, I am thrilled that the old badass Damon might come back.
I also love this new Damon with feelings, but I don´t wanna see his pain! I cried soooooo hard, when Damon had to kill Rose. Why is it that Damon can´t get anything good? He lost Katherine, Elena and now Rose. WHY??? I don´t want to see him suffering!!!
His so confused and messed up right now, that the future episodes actually scares me. What is the next thing, that is going to hurt him??? Karma is a bitch, I know, but still...

I think Damon misses being human. after all he was such a good guy before he was turned. after he was turned, his anger took over and decided that if he was forced in an eternity as a vampire, at least he would get some fun out of it. but he always felt guilty for killing - he ingored the remorses but when he met someone he cares about, someone to whom his actions would have an impact (and that person being Elena), his human side interfered in the situation. he never turned the switch off and being a vampire and having feeling is something oxymoron.

I don't think the old version of him is coming back. I think that last scene was more of him not knowing how to control his feeling anymore because he misses being human that much or something. I saw it more as him unleashing after breaking the wall and realizing something big such as missing humanity. And the whole Rose thing probably provoked him too. Too much emotions for him to handle!
