No then, k thx
Let me explain it so even monkey would understand, okay?
I have no need to PROVE it, male species have the priviledge and female species ARE the targets of abuse for far more times than male species are. Sexism against female gender requires less proof than sexism against male gender, thus in context its entirelly right to interpret Plec's statement as sexism because female gender IS the one oppressed. Burden of proof lies with those who have priviledge, capisci?
well what can I say, dearie. I try :3
seriously, An argument could be made on the nature of sexism of that remark int hat tweet IF it was not Plec. However since its Plec and she IS incredibly sexist, its only natural to assume that any comment with possible sexist undertones IS sexist coming from her.
Ehm no. . .
You apply sexism, where there are none. The core of your argument was that "couldn't stand up" and "can't remember name" is stereotype drunk FEMALE. I don't know your record of being drunk, but if you've ever tried it, you would know, that THAT has nothing to do with being female, and everything to do with being drunk. This is what actually tend to happen when people get drunken up real good. THIS is what drunk people say to eachother, and how people with a story of the weekends crazy explain that story.
You say LESS proof. You have NO proof. You have your own interpretation of a story that go side by side with something any person would tell about their crazy weekend, male or female. You come of as trying to label yourself, as someone who care so deeply for the equality between male and females. Some messiah sent to rid the world of masochism. The thing is though, no one gives a fuck :/
And no, Plec isn't "incredible" sexist. An incredible sexist person is notorious about their beliefs. Plec fails to be subtle about hers. Unless she is plain dumb ofcause and can't actually see a problem with TVD. . .
You apply sexism, where there are none.
THere are sexism undertones to be read into that statement Plec has made which require no argumentation to be counted as true because of Plec's already offensive sexist nature that has been proven over and over and over again. If you see an alcoholic with a bottle of whiskey in a hand do you A) assume he is going to throw it out or B) that he is going to get drunk? burden of proof. priviledge.
The core of your argument was that "couldn't stand up" and "can't remember name" is stereotype drunk FEMALE.
yes it is. and while one COULD interpret it as just "making fun of drunk people" (which in itself is a sort of ableism too), due to Nature of plec's post and the fact that target is female, ala the gender without the priviledge in the current society, I need no further proof. If she was talking about man and if it was not plec, then sure, but in this case and situation, nope.
THIS is what drunk people say to eachother, and how people with a story of the weekends crazy explain that story.
Is that okay? no. Just because everyone does it, it does not mean its good.
You say LESS proof. You have NO proof.
I need no proof in this specific case. Yet again if it was not plec or if it was not about a female person, then yeah I would need proof and maybe I would shrug off her saying as just "making fun of drunk people" (even that I frown upon)
But considering its Julie Plec the serial offender in the sexism and misogyny department and considering the target is a female and not male, I do not need any proof for it. The statement can't be interpreted as sexist and considering who is making the statement, it HAS to be interpreted as sexism.
You come of as trying to label yourself, as someone who care so deeply for the equality between male and females. Some messiah sent to rid the world of masochism.
Yes, that kind of person is generally called a "Human being".
And no, Plec isn't "incredible" sexist. An incredible sexist person is notorious about their beliefs. Plec fails to be subtle about hers.
You do not need to be "subtle" to be "incredibly sexist". 50's to 70's advertising campaigns certainly weren't . Taylor Swift certainly is not. The pig Daniel Tosh and his rape jokes certainly are nothing subtle too, but just as you said Plec most likely see NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT.
But most of people like that see nothing wrong with it - religious radicals of any religion see nothing wrong with hate-crimes and brainwashing their own children, for a sexist person stereotypical gender roles are like universal truth and for the misogynist the idea of woman being lower than man seems natural too.
It does not excuse them of what they do and yes Plec is incredibly sexist, there's not even one case of her NOT being sexist in her writing or her interviews. She is also a rape apologist and ableist and I could continue but frankly a lot of that has been already said about Julie Plec.
You do not need to be "subtle" to be "incredibly sexist".
"And no, Plec isn't "incredible" sexist. An incredible sexist person is notorious about their beliefs. Plec fails to be subtle about hers."
While i might would, i don't care enough nor do i have time for typing a feral response for such a wall of text, so i will just point that bittie thing out
FYI, you're wrong.
While i might would, i don't care enough nor do i have time for typing a feral response for such a wall of text, so i will just point that bittie thing outincredibly =/= incredible.
It's time to stop talking when you claim you don't need proof for your argument
In case of a sexism against a female gender the burden of proof likes with the offender(who has done this more than once)
You're the only one calling it that while the rest of the world is just pissed at her taking credit for Pauls success
There's a huge Supernatural fanbase who refuses to even think about the fact that SN is nothing but a huge misogynist propaganda now. Does that make them right? NO.
I see sexism in this situation because:The statement CAN be interpreted that way. Plec has been incredibly sexist since well, forever. There has been not even one statement or implication from her that would imply that she is self-aware of her sexism and misogyny or on if she is NOT sexist. The target has been a female person whom plec has clearly wanted to diminish with that comment.
incredibly =/= incredible.
But close enough. Incredibly synonym could be uncommon and incredible synonym could be implausible.
The statement CAN be interpreted that way.
You would go nuts with sexism if you lived in germany, because in their grammy(i dunno a lot about it btw) they use "sie" as female something they say before words that are of "female sex" so to speak. If this can be interpreted that way, then you would be able to rule every 2nd sentence on german as sexism because they use the female thingy to little. This CANNOT be interpreted that way by any senseable person. . .
