I've heard that season 9 will be published soon.

Good.  I can pretend that season 8 never existed.  It started out pretty good and some issues I really liked, but toward the end it got so messed up with the whole Twilight idea....nevermind....it never existed as far as I'm concerned.    But apparently Joss dislikes season 8 too and wants to bring Buffy back to earth in season 9, so hopefully it gets good again.

S8 had very good ideas, but then went wtfcrazy. The whole idea of buffy's position and how far she was willing to go in itwas pretty much something that was built up for a good amount of time through seasons.

IMO S8 should have been more about how she does things in her organisation than about harmony's reality tv shows or them @#$@%@...After all the best parts were about that (the whole double-stunt-brainwashing stuff was one of my favorite parts after all). That whole situation had such a potential, i mean the girl was robbing banks, lol.

Just remove most of twilight stuff, most of harmony stuff and you have a very decent and good season.

I just hope Whedon does not just "return" to s3-s4 buffy. She is obviously not the same person. Just hunting stuff is no longer enough.

What I am interested is obviously what will happen with Willow - from all the hints, it seemst the future was NOT averted, it started happening(Buffy broke the scythe and Melaka in future was wielding a Scythe "fixed" with duct tape)

  3. Aaand, according to spoilers, S9 first arc "Freefall" starts with her Birthday.

I'll just take a wild and unprecedented guess and say that it will end in some sort of huge tragedy.

Seeing that you guys read the comics what did you guys think of Angel killing Giles?

  5. I think it was very...poetic. IT rung back to both Angel storyline of season2 and Angel's warning to Buffy in Season 3. Not to mention that it had a HUGE emotional impact upon me, at least.(Buffy's face panel when we find out he left everything he had to Faith has got to be one of the most emotionally striking things in the comic book)

I felt a sense of loss. I loved Giles. And I loved Faith and Giles. I wanted more meat explored there. And then, just like that, Giles was dead.

I saw the episode with John Ritter playing Buffys mothers boyfriend. I thought that John was awesome up until the point that I found out he's a robot! I thought it was a waste of a character and could of been an interesting SL that could of been carried a lot further. RIP John Ritter. I also thought Buffy shouldn't have killed her friend that became a vampire because he was terminally ill. I would of liked to have seen Buffy have trouble killing him and let him go like she did with Angel. Plus I liked that character as well.

  9. . I also thought Buffy shouldn't have killed her friend that became a vampire because he was terminally ill.

That would not fit her hero facade. Accepting the fact that FOrd was somewhere RIGHT in his motivations, would paint her motivations as WRONG - something buffy will not ever stand. She LOVES being painted as the good girl, she loves justiying her own selfish mesed up motivations with good reasons.

I would not say she "let go of angel". that thing still haunts her. Its her first truly "morally gray" decision of having to sacriffice one man for the good of many.  It goes straight against the mask of hero she likes to display.

  10. decision of refusing to sacriffice one man for the good of many

    correcting myself.

Buffy let Angel go and accepted him because of her own selfishness. Doing itw ith ford would only go further to prove that she is not a hero she thinks she is.
