How many times does this need to be answered? If you had read the entire thread, or listened to the show. You would know a Petrova was sacraficed at the time the curse was performed, and the doppleganger was created as a way to break it.Posted 4/6/2011 2:10:08 PM # -
I wonder WHY was a Petrova sacrificed... I mean, could it have been anyone else or was the Petrova family important before the curse was placed? I'm thinking te latter, but 'm just guessing since there is no evidence that the Petrova family was important beore the curse :P

They have 6 episodes left to tell us why a Petrova. I'm sure there is some reason behind it, we will just have to wait and see.

First the original Petrova was not a doppleganger, Katherine and Elena are dopplegangers of hers. She did not cast the spell, she was killed by the Shaman/witch that cast the spell. We do not know yet why it was her that was killed, but I expect we will find out.

I think that the first Petrova was involved with Klaus and Elijah... The shaman used the Petrova to get revenge on the vampires... and she died....Klaus wants to get revenge by sacrificing the doppelganger a.k.a Katherine...but Elijah falls in love with Katherine and lets her escape...This is my theory...

I have always believed that Elijah let Katherine escape, and killed Trevor to keep Klaus from learning that he had compelled Trevor into helping her escape.

Nah, Trevor loved Katherine. He stated it a million times(this is if you see "Katerina" a million times).
Elijah and Katherine ain't together. Katherine is on the run for originals. She wanted to cut a deal with Klaus to break the sun/moon curse inorder for her being free. This wouldn't be needed if Elijah and Katherine was together. Elijah would just have talked with Klaus, since Elijah was one of Klaus's trustee back then. And if they worked together Elijah's move to "help" Elena wouldn't make sense, since Katherine obviously had some way to get in touch with Klaus. Elijah would simply highjack Elena, instead if wasting time protecting her. Katherine knew that Damon had the dagger and yet she letted Elijah die?
No way. I believe it is stated the shaman was a "he". It is never said that the shaman die(i am actually not sure of this, i just can't recall it being said). What does Klaus want revenge for? He just want to release the curse. Probably because he is afraid of the werewolf. The vampires would be instinct hastly if they broke the curse. I don't see why Klaus would care about making vampires walk in the day(unless he have plans to rule the world, mwhaha!), since all that is important to him, and alot others, simply can have a ring or necklace to wear and then be immune to the sun.
Because the new stills show Elijah and Katherine sitting on a bench together, dosen't mean they are in love-.-
If sitting on a bench with the opposite sex, would be the same as being in love, the single life would stop exsisting.
Anyway. If the producers and directors dosen't exploit why it's a Petrova who needed to be used, it would be a hug fail of TVD.
