Okay....so this is my problem... Season 1 and 2 are supposed to be Elena's Junior Year of High School... They Show school starting in the Pilot...so the way I figure... episode 6 of season one was halloween... so by episode 12 it would have been Dec 31... Which means By the season Finale it was sometime in April... So season one took place over a 7 month course...but that would mean Season 2 took place around a three month course... April through around June... Which is kind of mind boggling because SO much happened in three months. But still...okay I can see that happening.. sure, i'll take it..
BUT then we go to season...which is the beginning of Elena's Senior Year. Maybe a week before it starts..so we'll say it's like first week of sep/ last week of august...Everything happens...and then its season four..
which has a halloween episode in like episode four...and now a christmas episode by episode 9....So you are telling me that Season three was just like a month!?!?! if going by vampire diaries math whaaaat?!?!
Caroline and Tyler dating after caroline and matt break up, tyler leaving, tyler loving Caroline, Caroline flirting with Klaus, stefan/ Elena/ Damon, Jeremy moving away, then coming back, stefan being all rippery and killing andie and losing his emotions and keeping an eye on elena...and rebekah to the whole original family coming back... and Alaric turning bad... ALL OVER a month?!!? Thats impossible!
And so mathematically...season four started around September 25, TVD time...So it's already been three months... since Elena became a Vampire? whattt? anyone else think this is strange?!? And the second half of Season 4 is going to have to be like 5 months if theyre going to show graduation.

A lot of those first few episodes of s3 took place over the summer vacation, but the whole splitting their school year's into 2 seasons was a last minute decision made just before s3 anyways. I don't really care about these inconsistencies and I'm glad they split the years.Posted 12/14/2012 3:40:51 PM #

noo they definitely started season 1 her junior year and 3 here senior year..
also @Charmed- jenna i cant help but let the inconsistencies bother me cause i want to know how long she dated Stefan, and how long shes been with Damon. I think Time helps figure out the seriousness of relationships, and helps us understand them more...

Season 3 kills the timespan, it's ridiculous. Since season 4 had a Christmas party, I guess you can assume season 3 went for 4 months.Posted 12/14/2012 5:24:24 PM #

yeah they failed at season three...and yeah that what i was assuming...it just makes her and damons relationship a little less understandable because that would mean they were only alone without stefan in season 3 for like.. a couple weeks... which makes elena look kinda flaky haha.. but whatever..i just always try to understand character reasoning

You sure? Because for me she is between Asexual and a nun. She has displayed interest in total of TWO PEOPLE, only having relationship with one at the time. That part of why she is fucking unrealistic as teenager.
