Will Katherine pretend to be Elena?

This is from my favorite writer at EW Mandi Bierly:
Your turn. What did you think of the season finale? Where do you think/hope we’re headed in season 2? Clearly Damon — who made a point of telling Elena that he liked her better dressed as herself, not Katherine — will ultimately have to choose between the ladies, right? I worry that before then, Damon will decide to turn off his humanity again and have angry sex with Katherine. Or worse, pretend she’s Elena… Oh, who am I kidding? I totally want that to happen.
As appealing as Katherine pretending to be Elena is, that storyline has been done so many freaking times on shows, movies, and yes I even read it in another book a long time ago, I hope the writers can be a little more original. The evil twin or doppelganger taking over the good one's life has been played out a lot.
Now the advantage to this sorry, overused plot: the reaction of the people in Elena's life.
The disadvantage: how the hell could Damon not know it was Katherine? I don't think it is possible. Stefan and Damon would know.

If Stefan doesn't have the ability to distinguish between Elena and Katherine, then something is wrong.
But I guess we will see. I thought they pulled out the Katherine card too soon in this series, since this was only season 1.
But Kevin and Julie are fantastic, so I'm looking forward to next season.

Mistress A, I am starting to doubt that the writers don´t use that storyline. Yes, we have seen it many times, but orihinality nowdays lacks.
Damon will back to be that badass,I truly believe that.

Yeah, that's true. Damon didn't, but Stefan will. I'm still wondering why Damon didn't know that she was Katherine... (The Love of his existence? OK)

I don't think she'll pretend to be Elena...she's just gonna cause a lot of issues for Stefan.

ITA. First, there is no way in hell that Damon would actually waltz away from the Gilbert scene if he knows Katherine was there. He'd searched for this woman for an unhealthy amount of time. He got played, pure and simple. Even Julie talked about it. Damon knows this. He will without a doubt have some strong emotions, negative or otherwise, erupting to the surface.
But not only does he have to deal with this bitch and struggle with his feelings, he has to protect Elena and the family. It just wouldn't add up to me if he went home when the show comes back.
And the show would move into the total fuckery zone if Stefan has trouble identifying the woman he is in love with from the bitch of vampire central.

I doubt she'll pretend tp be Elena in front of the Salvatores, they'll figure out its Katherine pretty soon. But maybe she pretends to be elena in front of others. Like maybe "Elena" asks Bonnie to do something with her powers, without telling Bonnie the effect it will have (not the greatest example but you get what I mean)

I was actually losing sleep the night I watched the finale, thinking about how badly Katherine will fuck with everyone while pretending to be Elena. After I read that Kristin spoiler that said the last thing we will see in the finale is Elena's face as it fades to black, I was sure that Katherine would kidnap Elena and then pretend to be her. But after reading Mistress A's comment, I feel a little more at ease. That plot has been way over-used, and there will be something seriously wrong with Stefan if he can't tell the difference between his own woman and a class-A bitch.
BK also raises an interesting point. Maybe Katherine will exploit Bonnie's powers?

of course he wont..they look exactly alike ..i mean ok they're played by the same actress but you know what I mean! it's not easy for the guys to recognize them.. unless they get a tattoo.
