Dare to Dair?

From fanforum I completely agree with this: lol, this is what I don't understand! Are they delusional? Do they not realize how perfectly they set up Dair as alternative to dysfunctional Chair? I think that's why it hurt so much--well part of it. Not because she chose Chair, but because we were blind-sided. I watch a lot tv as well as read a lot of books and even write a little fiction now and then, and so--not to be at all arrogant--but I generally have a good sense of narrative flow. So I can sense when something's about to happen--even if I don't like it. So for instance, in the finale, I prepared myself for the chance of some Blair emotional conflict, but because I assumed (stupidly of course) that even GG would have to follow some rules of logic/ story telling it never occurred to me that they would so thoroughly torpedo my ship. Most decent shows--not even just out of respect for their fanbase--give narrative clues, hints, warnings of something like that. I mean, the premiere/ season finale don't even parallel each other!!! Blair never told Dan she loved him! Nothing narratively/thematically makes any sense. I honestly think the writers panicked/ rushed an ending onto this season because it doesn't fit the rest of the story lines that have been developed. But what they don't get is that in a way they've done us a favor. The finale was SO UNBELIEVABLE AND OOC , that it's left me even more convinced of Dair endgame. Because, it shows that they were INCAPABLE of writing believable Chair endgame. So they had to retcon the hell out of everything, even going back on/saying the complete opposite of what they've established (e.g. Chuck making her happy; Dair just being platonic, etc). Two things I will never forgive them for tho: 1) Blair never admitting she loved Dan. That's not just bad storytelling and antithetical to all her actions/ Leighton's acting; but it's CRUEL to a very devoted fanbase. I mean she even said she loved you to LOUIS for god's sake and we couldn't get that? 2) No proper closure/goodbye. They had them both treat each other so poorly that now even a friendship (the most beautiful foundation of dair) is ruined in canon. It's just mean. I would say careless, but it's so thoroughly malicious it couldn't be careless. Just cruel writing tbh. But no matter, what they won't steal dair from me. I won't allow them.

Dare to Dair?

For me it's not even that db breakup because I was expecting that but it's the fact that we didn't even get an actual breakup scene. The writers disregarded what db relationship meant to fans and even Blair and basically have db end on nothing. Blair didn't tell Dan he basically just heard from other people and that's all we got? Really that's freaking it?
