  I'm going to do this in a completely logical, non-shipper way. Elena can't choose Stefan at the end of the season, because then bye bye story, what are they going to write about next season? Fall for a guy, flirt with his brother, then decided actually you were right first time round :/ It just wouldn't work. So she could choose Damon, that's a possibility. But seeing as we know whoever doesn't get her has agreed to leave MF, and we can't exactly have Stefan disappearing off on his own again quite so quick (because that happened this season), I think Elena will FINALLY admit out loud that she has feelings for both and therefore can't be with either. But then next season she'll have to be around them all the time anyway because someone new seems to want her dead every week, and she'll be unable to stay away from Damon, even if she wants to. Then at the end of next season she becomes a vampire and that will add a whole new dynamic for season 5. Or that's how I'd write it anyway!

  when i say it was the original i dont mean it was the first thing with vampires. obv there were things with vampires before. but buffy redefined the genre. every supernatural show (and film) since follows the basic ideas of buffy. im not saying thats a bad thing. its just inevitable. and comparisons are obv going to happen. i personally think buffy is better, but that doesn't mean i like tvd any less. its one of my fav shows on tv atm. but i cant help but see the similarities coz theyre right there in front of my face. and id like to talk about them with other people who see those similarities. if you dont want to talk about them, dont visit threads specifically for talking about them. problem solved. but you cant tell people that they have to stop talking about it (title of this thread) coz we have a right to discuss what we want.

  i go on holiday for a month, come back and the forums gone buffy/tvd mad! as i see it, every show on tv that has vampires is to some extent inspired by btvs. because it was the original.
