• The Mentalist Review: The Hunt for Volker (1/14/2013)

  I loved this episode! It was great to see Jane and Lisbon bond together to fight a real flesh and blood villain, that could actually be caught! In addition to Jane putting Volker in his place (which was awesome), was the fact that after Lisbon explained to Jane why getting Volker was so important to her (failing to protect the witness), Jane actually sat down with her to go through all those files, he did actual police work! We all know how he feels about that!

  I don't know why people seem to think that cancellation at the end of the season is a done deal, it's not. If CBS cancelled The Mentalist, they would have to move another show with a loyal following into it's 10 pm Sunday slot and they don't have one; 10 pm on Sunday is brutal and it's holding its own. I believe in the power of positive thinking.

  I love this show and I love the mystery of not knowing who RJ is, however, I have become so paranoid while watching. I find myself doubting everything that happens, assuming everyone has ulterior motives, and that everyone is lying; it's maddening. I do enjoy the journey though. I know that many people think that there will be nothing left once RJ is uncovered, however, what if he is uncovered but not caught right away? ie: he gets away. Additionally, the characters are so rich and they all seem to have deep dark secrets, I'm sure there are many avenues to explore.
